I clean Converse in the sink with a sponge and "Oxiclean". I pop the laces in bleach and then soak them in Tide. It works really well.

I've put my Cons into a washing machine at around 30C with non-biological powder and they were fine.

This is a good question, because my red Cons could really use a good cleaning, too.

During my closet clean out, I have noticed that some of my summer canvas shoes in light colors do not look that clean. How do you clean yours (e.g. light colored Converse, Keds)?

Would a real hand wash be possible or would it ruin the shoes? I am thinking of soaking them with some mild detergent, scrubbing like crazy with old toothbrush, rinsing and drying.

Thank you!
