I wear false eyelashes regularly! But I wear the little clusters. I don't buy fancy ones; I've gotten them at Target and at Sephora. I just put one or two clusters in the outer corner of each eye after I apply mascara. Three if I'm going somewhere fancy and I'm dressed up.

The trick for me has been to apply them to the underside of the lashes. They blend in beautifully that way. They look very natural. You can wear them any time without looking too done.

Also, make sure you're letting your lash glue get tacky for a good 20-30 seconds before you try to stick the lashes on.

I've had the professional lashes done. What a mess. I asked for natural and they were so long and obvious. They also pulled my lashes out as they grew out too, and they were expensive and time consuming to put in.

I only put them on for ballroom competition, not for real life, but second the suggestions for videos and practice!

The brand of lashes makes a difference too...some have ridiculously thick bands that look obvious and don't mold well to your eye shape. I recommend Ardell because the band is thin and flexible, and also because they are budget friendly so it's no big loss to blow a few pairs practicing.

I also recommend the Revlon lash adhesive if you can find it. You might have to search online. Duo gets all the attention, but it is not latex free and it does contain formalin, which is a form of formaldehyde, so both of those things make it less than ideal for sensitive eyes. Another plus for the Revlon...a brush applicator so you can control the amount of glue more easily. Duo is just a tube, and it always squirts out too much and then it's hard to spread it out evenly. Can you tell I hate Duo?

Also, the videos will tell you how to trim the lashes. Did you do that? If they are too big for your eyes, that might explain the trouble with the corners not sticking down.

Another vote for You Tube. I like Lisa Eldridge but there are lots. Practice a lot before a big event.

Thanks so much!
I'm going to watch the videos and probably look for a glue for sensitive eyes.

I would check out the Lisa Eldridge posts above. If you are still having problems, then I would change your eyelash glue in case that is the problem. I found that my glue had somehow gone bad (I don't use false eyelashes very often), and I was having lots of problems with getting the lashes on, but as soon as I got a new tube of glue, things were OK.

There are tons of You Tube videos for this - as Meredith mentioned . It takes practice but once you are comfortable , it's easy .

I think Lisa Eldridge's methods are helpful.

Has anyone had success with applying and wearing fake eyelashes?
I like the look of them but have a hard time gluing and then the lashes start to peel off in the corners and I get goop on my contacts.
Does this mean I'm using an inferior product?
Is it worth the money to get them professionally done? If so, how long do they last?

Thanks for any input you have!
