I hope this doesn't come off as snotty: it is a genuine question.

Why use a lingerie bag when hand washing???

I use a lingerie bag with my non-molded cups and throw them into the washing machine (a front loader). I hang these dry over a rod with one cup on either side of the rod. I probably wear the bras 4 times before washing.

For my molded cup bras I hand wash in the sink using Soak brand lingerie wash (unscented:I have allergies). These I dry on hangers with the straps through the strap hooks on the hanger and done up: as though the hanger were my body. I probably wear the bras 5 times before washing: I should do this more but I"m fundamentally lazy about hand washing.

I don't think my bras stink. I think I get reasonable wear out of them before they "die" so I don't think I'm harming their longevity. The wear points on my bras do discolor in such a way I can't wash the marks out. Maybe that wouldn't happen if I washed more often?

After every second wear ( I try to space those at least 2 days), mild detergent, lingerie bag, hand wash or handwash cycle, air dry.

As needed--after a couple of wears or even after one wear, depending if I got hot and sweaty (I live in Florida). I hand-wash then and let them hang dry. They last a lot longer if you hand wash them, and avoid the dryer at ALL COSTS!

Argh--unfortunately, I have to wash mine after one wear. I've had an ongoing war with rabid backne issues that flare up noticeably if I re-wear anything on top. With my dermatologist's help, we've got it mostly under control, but this means religiously washing and not re-wearing clothes (in addition to a number of other measures). And I too, use the lingerie bag on the delicate cycle and hang to dry.

I wash them when they need it- determined by the smell test. (I am a sweaty Betty!) I have noticed that with the new bras, I can sometimes go more than one wearing. This is a new thing to me, and I think that it's because I am now wearing them in the correctly lowered position and not up so high under my arms. I have always washed my bras on the gentle cycle and air dried.

Every couple wears, this way they last longer and the fibers can go back to there original shape each time you wash them. Thats what I was told anyway!
And I always hand wash mine, if you pay over hundred bucks, you must take care of your investment!
