Right now I repeat the same clamdiggers two or three times a week with different tops (I have two pair each of white and dark denim). The tops get repeated about once a week. Skirts and my favorite dress are getting repeated once a week to every two weeks, depending on my schedule.
When the weather is cooler my jeans/pants are not repeated quite as often as the clams because I have more of them. I try to have several ways to wear each piece and change accessories. I see nothing wrong with frequent repeats and have learned that most people don't notice so much what you are wearing as your over-all appearance and confidence.

I of course repeat, but not nearly as much thanks to MyClothingCalendar (www.myclothingcalendar.com), a FREE online clothing journal that records what you wore with friends, family, colleagues and clients at social events, business meetings or any occasion.

I can upload photos of outfits and/or articles of clothing. Great site.

Glad to hear I am in good company - I am a repeater and LIKE IT! Since becoming a YLF member, I've cleaned out my closet and only have pieces/outfits that make me feel good.

I don't wear the exact outfit more than 1 time per week but the next week will change jewelry, shoes, handbag and add/delete sweater, belt, scarf or top so it's not exactly the same.

Too many choices make it hard for me to put together an outfit so the fewer the better.

It depends on the season. Summer stuff gets repeated less often because I tend to wear skirts and dresses and not likley to change something up with jackets, boots ,sweaters, and scarfs. Plus I feel *sweaty* and things go to the cleaner more often..in winter I have many layers, and repeat one or two of the layers more often.

Summer things, like a dress is one piece, and can only change the shoe , or bag. Winter has many pieces that can be mixed and matched more.

When I was working I would try not to repeat items more than once a week. It's funny, now my wardrobe is much bigger so I don't have to repeat very often but I do it even more now . As long as I am not going to the same place or seeing the same people, I will wear an outfit a couple of times in a row by which point it probably needs a wash since someone has spit up on it or ruined it in some way.

Whole outfits? Not sure. Individual items - I repeat CONSTANTLY - sometimes several times in one week. I am always changing out belts, shoes, earrings, even bags lately - so it might be close to the same outfit, but not quite. When I swap out accessories, I try to give the clothes a totally different feel than the last time I wore it - I won't swap out just colors, but textures too. I have a pretty small clothing wardrobe, and I like it that way.

We were talking entire outfits here, not items right? Because if items I am an even worse repeat offender! I think I lived in my skinny jeans every day during the winter, and my straight legs every day this spring, and you all know I went days on end with the banana bag when I first got it!

I do tend to go on jags with a new favorite item and try to incorporate it over and over again in as many outfits as I can. Maybe not with a top (because of sweat) but definitely with accessories. It is fun. Sort of like having a signature item... for the week. Or two.

I have a small wardrobe, but I try to have at least three different ways to wear one item so I can change things up a bit. I will wear the same item probably once every two weeks, but the look is different...I wear a top with white clam diggers one time and with denim clams the next and change up the accessories, or I put a cardigan over a top to mix things up. I've found that I can work with a small wardrobe this way but still feel like I have a bunch of different outfits to wear.

Well, if it's a new piece and I'm totally in love, I might wear a top or bottom to the office once a week the first for a little while, especially if I can wear it a different way. But normally I try to go two weeks between outfits. Because I have a lot of dresses, I can usually stretch my work wardrobe across two-three weeks easily.

I mix in several of my work tops, camis, & cardigans with casual bottoms. I usually heavily rotate the bottoms, but it's not very noticeable.

I tend not to repeat too much. Though I am guilty of wearing a favorite piece of clothing to death sometimes. For example, my newly acquired denim skirt. It is such a versatile piece that I can't stop wanting to wear the different outfits that keep popping into my head! I have to make a conscious effort to put off such repeats to the next week or two.

good question! i generally don't completely repeat a look. i usually mix up the accessories or pair a top with different bottoms. also, since you know i love cardigans :), i can easily change an outfit by swapping out a different cardigan or tank top.

I repeat suits all the time because I don't have that many and I have to wear one to work three days a week or so. I try to change up the tops and most importantly the accessories. That can make all the difference. My black pant suit probably gets worn once a week.

I think I have some easy workhorses that I will wear once every other week. They're my go to look when I'm running short on time. With other looks, I do try to keep things fresh by not repeating often. That's not so much for other people but more because it's fun to challenge myself to find new ways to wear things.

Historically speaking I have been a repeat offender. However, I am not trying to be more creative with my look and not wear the same outfits over and over again. I may wear the same top but with different bottoms (say a skirt instead of pants) and totally different accessories. All in all, I have about 3 weeks worth of outfits that I can wear to the office before I start repeating.

In the last six months I haven't had much opportunity to repeat since my clothes tended not to fit me after a couple of weeks. *g* But now that I'm settling down in size and I am starting my wardrobe all over, I am finding that I am repeating week to week. Particularly with dresses, it's hard not to. But I try to mix it up with different accessories, cardigans or shoes when I can. I'm adding in more pants and skirts now, and that allows for better mix-and-match opportunities so it's less likely for my co-workers to realize I just wore that piece last week. :)

I'm the opposite of Shiny; I do work in an office, and that's the last place I want to wear the same thing over and over again. I much prefer changing it up there as much as I can -- and I really enjoy spending time in the morning getting ready and putting together different outfits. Many days it's the only creative outlet I have!

I'm also a repeat offender but I try hard not to repeat the same outfit with the same crowd/occasion. Since I don't go into the office every day, this is fairly easy. With a lot of our social occasions we will run into the same people over and over, so I try not to repeat there either.

I love taking photos and keeping track of when I wore what - because then I know not to repeat, and can also go back through the photos and recycle outfits when I'm at a loss and not feeling creative.... which is probably half my days!

Of course, when Jean came over last week, I had to step it up and find something new from my closet, because I figured she'd seen it all!! That was hard, but also fun.

I suspect I'd be less creative if I had to go into the office every day. Realistically, I would prefer to sleep in a few extra minutes rather than spend it getting dressed in the morning! I did think about that recently, with this new job there was a possibility my new boss would expect me in the office more. When I used to work in an office daily, I was a creature of routine and repeated all the time. Just like I do with my cooking (if it's Monday it's pasta night, yep). So I figured if I had to go back to the daily office grind, I would put myself on a schedule: I have 5 short-sleeve jackets, I would wear one each day, with a different blouse and different jeans each day. I figured that would give me the necessary routine plus a little bit of creativity to mix it up.

I do not think there's anything wrong with repeating. I really love having "no-fail" outfits to reach for on those days I'm just not up to the creative effort or don't have the time.

I am a "repeat" offender. I will wear the same casual clothes over and over, way too often. I think it would be different with business casual clothes, but with my MOTG outfits, I am really trying to break the habit. Need more clothes, though.
