I change them every day and have an organizer which goes from bag to bag. I either use a black backpack (if I am with a child who may need a change of clothes) maybe 5 years old or a black fabric bag from target that must be at least 8 years old. So, every 1-3 days I don't keep a lot in my purse though, and don't use a keeper, just grab it all and plunk into the new purse (it fits in 2 grabs). I am always on the lookout for a bag I like that I can buy at a reasonable price, so I can start some kind of rotation...but I love my current bag so well, nothing else has measured up. It's got a long strap, so I can wear it cross-body if I want to, and it's made of a neutral tan leather so it goes with everything. When I have an occasion that requires more formality, I just carry my leather wallet-thingy, which doubles as a clutch, and which normally resides in my awesome bag. If only I could find bags that measure up! I guess it simplifies life, having one less decision to make every day...but I do feel kind of weird, having used the same bag for four years. The exception would be for a night out, when I'd switch to a small clutch for example. I feel ready to switch bags but I am remodeling so everything is packed away. Usually when my bag gets too cluttered, that's my signal to switch to something else for a while. My shoes are a much more important part of my style than my bags, that's why I'm OK with a neutral bag. I'm a matchy-matchy type, so it drives me crazy to wear a purse with gold hardware if I'm wearing silver jewelry. Unfortunately that means more bags! I don't change it at all. I have kangaroo keepers but they never leave the bag - they live to keep all the junk in there organized. I do also have a cross-body that's equally neutral; I use this for when I do errands. The only things I switch between bags are my wallet and my pencil case (which is my med/cosmetic bag). Occasionally I'll pull out one of my "fashion purses", but this is limited to weekend idling and special occasions. My silver satchel goes with just about everything, although I'm not crazy about it with my taupe shoes. If I'm wearing them I usually carry my plaid houndstooth bag. I love the pattern, but the dinky size is seeming a bit "twee" to me of late (even though all of my things fit). My other winter purse is a little black leather cross-body that works for dress-up or shopping. I love this bag, but alas, my wallet doesn't fit without squeezing so it's a royal pain to take out the cards and cash I think I will need. I usually forget something important and feel naked without the security of my many discount cards/coupons/checkbook that reside in the big wallet! I change my bags daily depending on what I'm wearing. I try not to load up my bags too much so that makes it easier to swap them over. When I'm being very organized I unpack the contents on my bag onto a designated shelf in my closet at the end of the day and then repack my bag of choice the following morning:). But I do switch between my two handbags often. One goes to school/work with me, and the other is used whenever I'm not taking my laptop with me or carting around several layers. I keep pens and chapstick in both, so that when I switch I just have to move my wallet, phone, keys, and sunglasses. I still will sometimes forget to move something over (usually the sunglasses, sometimes the keys or phone), so I couldn't imagine switching between more purses without something like the kangaroo keeper! I don't have very many bags (only 2 or 3, plus one summer only bag) that are large enough and fit all my requirements for an everyday bag (has to have a zipper closure, has to fit over my shoulder, big enough for all my stuff, etc) and I am too lazy in any case to switch it every day to match. I'm a shoe gal with limited handbags. Even though I fully intend to switch out bags, I never really do except for an evening bag type occasion. I did upgrade to a colored 'every day' bag this year, though! My purple Fossil Sutter is one of the best purchases I made all year. Baby steps.
