If it's knit I'd say the smaller size would be fine (I assume they are supposed to fit tight). According to the website's fit recommendations they said to size up.<br /> I'm normally a 42 in this brand, but that size has a hip measurement of 36".<br /> The 44" has a hip measurement of 38".<br /> My hips are 38.5"-39" ish. </p>
