So, having too many casual pants is not a problem -- and is in fact desirable -- as they also double as work pants. </p> <p>Rae - exactly! The cords just feel more dressy to me, perhaps it's because of their velvety texture. I do work in a quasi academic institution where people (me included) often dress like skateboard punks, so it could be because of that. </p> <p>Susie - Yes! That's one of the reasons why I think the pants are way more flattering on me :). I know Angie says that cords are more casual than jeans, however where I worked the management felt the same as you, thinking that cords are more dressy. So the short answer is that I wear my cords in Tahoe. As you well know, it can be winter there for more than 6 months of the year.
