It takes me 35-40 minutes from shower to car. We also make the school lunches the night before in our house to save time. I also have the coffee ready to go and the coffee cups set out the night before so I can get caffeinated as soon as possible after waking up!

About one hour from rolling out of bed to out the door. This includes shower, full makeup in five minutes. My short hair's easy - wash and gel. I also whip up a quick breakfast, make coffee to go, pack nutritious lunches for me and my sweet hubbie and wash any stray dish in the sink. I have my system down to a science; everything I need for work and class is prepped the night before. My wardrobe items, including purse, shoes/boots and jewelry is placed on my 'staging' chair beside the bed. And I still have time to give my sweetie a goodbye smooch before we leave. Forgetting the smooch is not an option!

30 minutes without a shower

I wish I could shave off some time. I've tried using a stop watch. I just don't feel completely ready if I don't go through my entire ritual. Hair time has increased since growing it out.

wow-- you guys are speedy. Once I step in the shower, I'm looking at an hour before I'm ready to step out of the house. If I'm really pressed for time I can do 45 minutes but I had better know exactly what I'm wearing and not have to make any tweaks on it at all.
I start with wet hair every morning (even if I don't wash) and I do a full face of make up every day.

My routine is:
* check emails and daily calendar (10 mins)
* shower
* dry and dress (wrap hair in microfibre wrap if wet)
* downstairs for breakfast and making lunch/grabbing snacks
* back up to the bathroom, blowdry and straighten hair (or tie up etc)
* brush teeth
* makeup
* shoes on

I am a quickie. I can be out of the house in 20 min pretty much fully done. I have oily hair and skin, so I take a shower every morning, and also shave everyday. That whole process takes 10 min. Then I can comb my hair, brush my teeth, and do a full face of makeup (foundation, blush, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow) in the remaining ten. I tend to wear similar outfit combos frequently, and can put something together in three minutes tops unless I have something new I am trying to incorporate, am playing around, or have a new situation I need to explore options for. I don't blow dry because I have medical problems and can't hold the drier for long enough, so that limits my hair options. With breakfast, I can be out the door in 30.

45 minutes-at least- starting with shower and ending with teeth. How long to choose and accessorize an outfit depends completely on whether or not I have thought about it and feel inspired. Sometimes it takes much longer (when I stand in front of the closet lamenting and haven't had a good idea in the shower).

I would LOVE to have 45 minutes of uninterrupted time to get dressed in the morning! With 2 kids (4 years and 15 months) it is difficult to even get out of my dressing gown and pajamas. At the moment my outfits are pretty boring (I just found this site!) and usually consist of tracksuit pants (for home) or whichever other pair of pants are my going out ones for that week. So for me getting ready is not so much putting on clothes as putting something other than PJ's on. Usually about 15 minutes. With the kids that time is often interrupted and I am walking around partially dressed. I pick what I am going to wear the night before (currently that is generally something daggy unless I have a specific outing planned that is not grocery shopping). Deodorant, put clothes on, wash my face, moisturise, put on makeup if I will leave the house (at least that is the intention, it doesn't always happen). I shower at night or I probably would never get around to it I imagine!

From the time I get ouf of the shower, it takes me about 10 mins. This includes towelling off, lotion, face cream, hair goop, accessories, makeup, clothes. This is assuming I have all my clothes (I usually do) pre-selected down to the last detail the night before. Of course i have a pixie cut which I don't blow dry so it's really quick and I only do very light makeup.

Theresa - we packed school lunches the night before - while cleaning up after dinner.

Everything that needed to stay cold went into the fridge, everything else went into the lunch box. My kids were able to assemble their own lunch in the morning then.

My last student is 15-y.o. now. He makes a week's worth of sandwiches on Sunday evening - usually peanut butter and jelly, but sometimes lunch meat and cheese. They keep just fine in our fridge for the week!!

(I knew someone who made a MONTH'S worth of PB&J sandwiches and kept them in the freezer until needed! He LOVED PB&J

If I don't have to wash and dry my hair, I can be ready in 30 minutes. Add in the hair routine and it balloons to just over an hour.

Of course, the morning routine is compromised by the fact I'm not at all a morning person and also I have to stop and love on the kitties every so often:)

oh Cool! I'm so glad I'm not super slow!

Days like today are a bit foreign to me because I usually stay in bed as long as possible then rush!! I like my morning sleep.

Now I have to decide if I look that much better today to justify getting out of bed when my alarm goes off or staying in bed the extra hour till the clock radio turns itself off!

(Once my camera battery charges I will take a WIW pic so you can decide LOL)

EDIT - lol yes kids certainly add to the mix! School days (my school girl is unwell today so home), are certainly a totally different kettle of fish! I'm like a drill sargeant those days - barking orders and running around packing lunches etc! But, if I stay focused and on task, we can be out the door in 1 hour - but my girls are 4 & 6 so can physically dress themselves most of the time!

The simple answer: Too long!
But usually 20min's tops including a shower, if you are thinking about just being presentable enough to be seen but not out the door yet. Any longer than that and my husband needs to get to work and the kids interrupt me, or climb into the shower fully dressed to be with me... no make up though. 5-10min shower if I'm lucky enough to have one by myself, and I get my clothes ready the night before. Kids dressed, nappy changes, breakfast for the family and breastfeed my son. Quick bag check and we can be out of the door... in about 2-3 hours! LOL.
On work days I need to add getting bags in the car, spare clothes packed for the kids and lunches and snacks done, express milk- label and chuck a bottle in the bag. Then last round of nappy changes and dress the kids. So I have to get up earlier, sometimes they don't get breki until they are in care. So around 1.5hours to get out the door and kids into care. Seriously there is not enough time in the mornings- LOL! It will get easier once my children are a little bit more independent.
Kids defiantly add another dimension to 'getting ready'.

Theresa, in my world 45 minutes is positively efficient! Don't worry about a thing... I'm useless in the mornings and am only capable of making it snappy under serious duress. :)
I tend to linger in the shower, take my time over my facial-care routine, select my clothes at a leisurely pace, dry my hair only after letting it air-dry a bit, then don my outfit and accessories in my own time. The only quick part of the process is the perfume and makeup application, since I wear only concealer and occasional blush.
I sure wouldn't call that routine streamlined! But I hope it makes you feel better.

I seem to get out of bed only when I must, so I know that I can get ready and out the door in less than 30 minutes. That means I have picked out clothing the night before (or grab any old outfit), I do not need to wash my hair, I grab breakfast to eat on the way, and the cat and dog get breakfast on the fly. Those are the days I am afraid I will forget to let the dog back in. . . :-(

Washing my hair adds 15 minutes.

To be sane, an extra 15 minutes would add calm into my morning, but that doesn't seem important when my alarm goes off. . .

Normal days, 20-30 minutes depending on how much I know what I'm going to wear, about 45 minutes if I'm getting all dressed up with make-up, hair etc (though I never used to wear make-up, so the more I do it the faster I'm getting).

I like to have at least 2 hours in the morning. Not all of that is spent getting myself ready though. I like to take my time...

I always wear a full face of make-up, so if I'm not straightening my hair I can get ready in 30 minutes (if my outfit is planned out the night before). If I'm straightening my hair I need at least 50 minutes... an hour is preferable.

It just took me 45mins to get dressed (including changing cardi/accessories a couple of times), do my hair (it was dry - just need to fix it and finish it) and do my make up (I did all my make up as opposed to just tinted moisturiser and lip gloss).

Is that normal? I feel like I took forever and need to streamline my approach LOL

Normally I would do it in about 15 minutes but I would have gone with my first outfit probably, only the minimal make up and my hair would just get a brush... but today I don't have to leave the house till 10.30am so decided to do everything properly.

Obviously days when I don't have this much time, I will stick to my quick routine!

But now I'm curious - how long does it take you to get ready if you include getting dressed, hair and make up? Am I extraordinarily slow, or is that not too bad?
