Thanks for sharing ideas and solutions - you've given me much to consider. I think I prefer scrunching to cuffing in general, but my new jeans are probably too wide for both. I'll have to play around some more to find out. I like my jeans to have a visible seam at the hem, so turning them to the inside doesn't work that well for me.

I prefer to cuff my skinnies, as I think my straights are too wide at the hem (that's what happens when your ankles are half the size of your calves). I like my straights long, with a bit of scrunch. I wear them with clunky shoes like docs or fluevogs or with my pointy booties. They all have about a 2" heel.

I can't fit in mine right now, as I gained some weight this year, but if I could fit in them, I might try cuffing for a change of pace.

I wear my straight leg jeans with both heels and flats. I use a fantastic product called Hem-Eze to make a temporary hem - shorter for flats, longer for heels.

I used to always cuff my straights and wear with flats or heeled booties until I found Angie (!) and learned the scrunch; now I do both, depending on mood and the vibe of the outfit. To me, whatever shoe you are wearing, cuffs are more trendy and playful, and the scrunch is more elegant. It's nice to be able to do both.

My straight legged jeans are difficult to roll properly and seem too wide unless pegged. This is especially true if the jeans are long to begin with. I'd wear them with heels or temporarily shorten them for flats by turning the extra fabric to the inside and securing it with fashion tape.

I really like the look of a cuffed jean to show off my shoes. I'm just about to make the calves narrower on my straight legs so they sit better when rolled. Lately I have been thinking what a shame it is when I buy a great pair of shoes and they get hidden by the jean hems. I want to show them off, so rolling does that.

I am not much of a cuffer. Maybe in summer for really casual wear but not the rest of the time. I used to wear heels with my 'dressier' jeans but I just don't want to anymore. I've got a couple heeled boots but mostly I have my straight legs at the length where I can wear them with flats or nearly flats.

I just went back to wearing jeans this fall, so I haven't had a lot of time to experiment with cuffing, since I didn't want to freeze to death in the cold. But I have worn my straight-legs with heeled booties and think it looks OK. They cover the top of the bootie a bit. Angie might faint, however...with bootcuts, she's always said how she prefers the length to be almost to the ground, and it's impossible to achieve that with straight-legs.

I wear mine over combat boots / doc martens with a fluid silk shirt. I can cuff them if I want but the boots are just tall enough that I don't need to. I'm not sure it's exactly current but it's my go-to outfit.

Thanks! This helps. I'm reluctant to having them hemmed as I have other ones that are shorter anyway, and it is nice to have at least one pair that can handle heels. I have to practice my cuffing a bit. The legs are on the narrow side of straight, but still significantly wider than skinnies.

I like cuffing them in various lengths depending on the length, the weather, shoes, etc. I see everything from huge cuffs on deep blue denim to more casual rolled cuffs on faded BF jeans. I've never done the huge *one* cuff thing, but I have done other variations". If the jeans are long, you may roll them twice at 3" each time or once at 6", so there are so many options. I did a double 4" roll on some skinny black ponte pants I wore with heels and a silk blouse last summer and I liked the look.

I buy jeans in two lenghts ;-)! I have got dark straight legged ones that go with flats and the same one to go with heels or heeled boots/booties. I wear skinnies with heels AND flats..because they are tapered so it works well with both.

I have a pair of dark blue jeans, straight legged that are too long for flats, but I can pull them over a heeled pump if I want to. Then they almost cover the shoe. I like these jeans for work, but I wonder about the length.

My question: What is the current way to wear such styles? I'm under the impression that many people cuff them nowadays, even with heels for a cropped effect, or have them hemmed a lot shorter. How do you wear them, with heels and/or flats? Do you keep them long enough to cover a heeled boot/shoe, or cuff them?
