What everyone else said. Try to think in layers because even if the sun comes in and out during the day, the wind picks up or dies down, or the humidity rises and falls, you might need to shed a jacket or throw one on. It's been beautiful here so I wouldn't worry too much, but I would check the weather report again right before you leave. During this season the weather is especially changeable.

I'm going to add here... just remembered, we drove around on Sunday and saw tons of out-of-towners downtown. It was 75 with very low humidity, and brisk wind. If you are site seeing downtown, the buildings can block the sun, and it can get chilly. I recall seeing that most site-seers were wearing long pants or jeans, with short sleeve or sleeveless top, and comfortable flat shoes. Alternatively, shorts/clams/skirt, with long sleeve top/cardigan.

With this type of weather (what I tend to think of as "California" weather), it seems either legs need to be covered while arms are bare, or legs are bare but arms are covered.

I would still, however, pack flexibly for contingency that your week is hot and humid. Because it might be. Can't predict.

This is a tricky time! It's highly dependent on the humidity. Today we had high humidity so it felt a lot warmer than it really was. Yes, 75 and humid is definitely hotter than 75 and no humidity.

I suggest layers. Keep an eye on the weather forecast (though also take it with a grain of salt - it is often quite wrong!!) and pack:

- short sleeve tops
- elbow length cardigans, maybe one long sleeve
- a jean jacket
- clamdiggers
- long jeans
- dresses
- leggings (for layering under the dresses)

This should *probably* get you through every possible combo - short of an unexpected cold snap. If that happens, use it as an excuse to go clothes shopping. :-)

I'd also throw in a pair of sweats and a sweatshirt - in case you want to hit the beach. We hit the beach this weekend and while it was sunny and 75, it was quite windy.

This time of year can be dicey. We just came off an almost-heat wave ~ 80s and 90s, sticky hot ~ but now it's high seventies and dry. As Debora said, evenings do cool down quite a bit, even if the day is warm, so be prepared with layers. Also, it can be breezy by the water so a light jacket is good.

Last night I was in Boston, and was comfortable during the day in a light summer dress with a cardi and sandals but when leaving a restaurant at 8 pm I was a bit cold! I do run cold though.

Hi LOP! September nights can be cool in New England, so I would be sure to pack a pair of jeans and a light-weight jacket or two. Hope you have a wonderful trip! I would love to hear about it when you return.

I'm going to Boston for a week next week and have no idea what to bring.

Weather.com says it's going to be around 75F, but I don't know what it feels like there with the humidity, etc.

What is good to bring? It's a vacation so I'll mostly be outdoors.

Thank you!
