My wardrobe is the total opposite to how it was pre YLF. I buy much more colour now and also more fitted things, there is also a lot more trendy stuff now such as skinnies and faux fur vest which i would have loved before but never had the confidence to wear x

I think the biggest changes for me have been shoes, belts, and what I wear for layers. Before my go to shoes were rainbow flip-flops, brown puma tennis shoes, and some kinda clunky knee-high boots (that I wore with regular jeans tucked in for a long time - oh the horror!). Now I have nicer and sleeker sandals, flats, low heels, and good fitting boots that are on my feet - they make a world of a difference!

I also started wearing belts, which I think add another level of sophistication to a basic jeans and t-shirt look, and my waist belts have changed my life!

And finally, outer layers. I used to wear semi-fitted fleece jackets, bulky sweaters, and even sweatshirts sometimes. Now I'm all about fitted blazers and jackets, and cardigans!

Oh, I've also been wearing more skirts and dresses, though I think I would still be wearing more of them anyway since they help me stay cool in the AZ heat. But I certainly wouldn't be wearing them quite as much or the same way if it weren't for YLF and academichic.

I haven't had any time to post for the past month or so, but I've been lurking, gathering inspiration from Angie's blog and on the forum posts.

I've been thinking about how much the way that I think about my wardrobe has changed just in the last couple of months, since I've been reading fashion blogs. I used to have an endless supply of tops that I wore with black pants and black shoes--oh, and a black purse. I would get so bored with my wardrobe, that I would go buy more tops and black shoes and black purses--an endless cycle of boredom-inducing outfits.

Since I've been reading YLF and other fashion blogs, I've discovered that it's not how many items of clothing that you own that keeps your wardrobe interesting--it's how you combine things. I've learned to let go of what I *think* should go with what. I've also learned that I can do so much more with some fun shoes and a few inexpensive accessories than I could ever do with many tops (to pair with black pants LOL!!) I bought a $14 faux patent leather fuchsia purse, some green western boots, a couple of bright cardigans, and some fun stretch belts... these items have given me MUCH more mileage than 40 more "tops" would have! I've also learned that it's o.k. to buy shoes and purses in real, vibrant, fun colors--not black!

How has the way that you think about your wardrobe changed since you started reading fashion blogs?
