Glad that worked for you!!
Word of warning folks..their sweaters this year have been particularly sub-par. I have taken many , many back in store :(. I am used to Ann Taylor quality ...different than LOFT , so when people come back with these sweaters I nod my head in agreement with them.

I know this is a sticky subject but I am a firm believer in customer satisfaction! I see no problem in returning something that didn't pass muster...

Anyway, I returned the pants with no problem at all. The sales person at LOFT told me that as long as I hadn't cut out the security tag they could accept the return. She was totally nice about it and refunded me without question. I am very pleased with the service I received! I know LOFT can't have a return policy like Nordies but I'm glad that they will stand by their products.

Marianna, I don't know about ATL's return policy. But I wanted to add please don't feel bad about being too busy to post or do things in the forum. Of course we miss you but if you don't have time it's OK.

Yes, please speak up to them about quality! I get so tired of inferior fabrics and/or construction (not specifically Loft) and it's not always apparent at the time of purchase.

LOFT is really unable to handle a return policy like Nordstrom. but it is still in my opinion generous.
60 days with receipt , not washed worn and tags attached. Of course people don't really care about store policy if they don't want something or unhappy with the quality.

Speak directly to the store manager for best results..you should be fine and be willing to accept store credit if need be.

Isn't that funny, I had a similar experience to CRW, but the outcome was much better. I dry-cleaned a pair of pants per the instructions and they shrunk. I called ATL and told them what happened and the apologized profusely and accepted a return.

Maybe you should call ahead and ask to speak to the manager. If that doesn't get you some positive result, then email customer service and let them know how disappointed you are.

From my experience, I wouldn't be optimistic. I bought a pair of lounge pants a couple of months ago that said they were machine wash, tumble dry. I tried them on before washing them and they fit perfectly. After I washed them (on cold - without drying them!!), they were about two inches shorter than they were when I put them in the washer. When I tried to return them, the saleswoman kept saying, "We can't take these back because you've already washed them," which I tried to explain was the point - that I washed them according to instructions and the quality of the pants was defective. All to no avail, and I ended up pitching the pants because I hate, hate, hate lounge pants that are too short.

Now, since you didn't wash them, maybe you'll be better off - or maybe I just had a bad experience. I will say that my ponte trousers from ATL have been a disappointment - they bag out almost as soon as I put them on. I hope that you have better luck than I had!

Marianna, I once bought a sweater from LOFT that pilled and shed all over me with just one or two wears. My black jeans were covered in gray fuzz. I asked for a return and was prepared to fight to the death about it, but they gave it to me without hesitation. I'd at least try. The worst they would do is say no.

I have never returned anything to Loft after wearing, but I would not hesitate to try in this situation. The worst they can say is "no" I vote give it a try and let us know how it turns out for you.

First of all, I know I've been a stranger lately. I'm sorry! I have been working a lot and haven't had as much time to spend on the forum. :(

Anyway, I need your input! I am so used to Nordstrom's awesome return policy that I am perplexed about what to do in this situation.

I bought a pair of trousers at Loft. I wore them once and they bagged out and stretched out horribly. I am really disappointed in the quality and really don't like the pants. If this was a Nordstrom item, I wouldn't hesitate to return them and I know I wouldn't get any grief. But what about at Loft? If I go in and tell them the truth (I wore them once but am really unhappy, etc) what kind of reaction will I get? Are they flexible on situations like this or not at all?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I hate to throw out money like that!
