I've noticed now that when I buy skirts, I always test out some dance steps first (usually waltz, which requires a large stride) to see whether the skirt works well. This means I have been staying away from pencil skirts, although I might break down and buy myself a denim pencil skirt for nondance days . I guarantee you I'm not nearly as fit these days. At the time, between dancing, running, and yoga, I probably put in an average of 2-3 hours a day exercising. It wasn't something that was sustainable long-term.</p> <p><b>La Pedestrienne&nbsp;-&nbsp;</b>I'm a hiker too, and that definitely does impact my style, especially in the summer. It's also in keeping with the norm here. They are a challenge as most sneakers, even slip-on ones press on the top of the foot as I walk in a painful way. The best solution for me is athletic ballet flats, so I wear those most days. I like pockets, so that usually means jeans or a jacket with extra pockets. This does influence my shopping choices, especially as I like dressy. I'm drifting toward Sporty Lux, although DH isn't on board with it yet. </p>
