So you have to pull the collars to sit upright inside the collar. Whereas if the collars are tucked out and over the blazer, it usually stays pretty firm on top, looking nice. But I like the inside collar look too. Otherwise you'll look like disco stu (for men).<br />&nbsp;<br />For women, I think both look great in or out. There are some tips I would give that make it look good for women:<br />If you button to the top, with top button closed, then obviously collar inside. It would be too hard to even try and get it to stay outside.<br />For one button open, it is probably better to keep it inside too for the same reason that it would probably slip back in anyway.<br />For 2 or 3 buttons open, I think putting the collar outside looks better. You have to reconcile yourself to wearing them separately if you don't want a buttoned up look. &nbsp;(Or maybe wearing the blazer with a fully unbuttoned shirt as a mid-layer and a bottom layer underneath, but that could look like exhausted teenage boy attending family event.) &nbsp;A patterned shirt and an interesting cut on the blazer will take you further from polished and corporate, but only a few steps. If it makes you feel better, even I don't easily wear collared shirts and blazers often.
