Ugh -- I hate the feel of a lined jacket on an uncovered underarm. When I was working and wearing jackets most days, I either refused to wear sleeveless under a jacket or I used those sticky shields. I have to admit that neither was a great solution. Jackets often look better over a sleeveless top because it makes the arms less bulky, and the shields were awkward to place in exactly the right spot.

I will look into those pads but I can't say I think that it is the most elegant solution...

The worst thing about dry clean only is that it doesn't remove body odor. Even with regular showering & deodorant this still gets on underarms of garments. The stick on pads help but for this reason I hate wearing sleeveless tops & dresses under my jackets.

Great ideas. I will look for the Nordstrom underarm shields. Thanks for the suggestion.

Nordstrom sells adhesive underarm shields. Search for garment guards. I bought them but have not tried to use them yet. But thy feel soft and seem thin enough.

If I can't launder it, I dry clean. I admit I'm a bit of an over-launderer with my clothes.

All of my jackets and blazers are dark colors. A couple of dark shirts I own do get a sweat ring (thin, polyester satin material). But the blazer I own now is heavy enough cotton material it doesn't show a single thing. I just launder it when I can. It says dry clean, but sometimes I'm daring!

Em: I place the underarm shields in the lower seam of my jacket arms. I like the ones that pin in, with tiny safety pins that I stick through the seam allowance, but they're harder to find. I've actually made a couple. I think I might do that in the future.

You can find them in fabric stores -- usually near the bra inserts and shoulder pads, or you can order online.

Because SO MANY outfits for suits that I see utilizes a sleeveless blouse or shell. I try to buy only shirts with sleeves, but they're not in abundance.
