Use a little Dawn detergent on a small soft brush just on the area you need to clean. Then rinse under the faucet. It shouldn't hurt to get these wet, especially just the part you want to clean. Blot dry with towel after rinsing.

Since it's fabric, I think I'd try a Tide pen first. Depending on the stain that might be enough to take it out and it is the least messy option. Otherwise, I would probably try scrubbing with detergent - it's easiest to use an old toothbrush for things like this.

I've been wearing my new white sneakers, and not unexpectedly I'm starting to see a little bit of discoloration on the collar of the shoe from body oil etc.

The sneakers are leather, with a sort of mesh collar. Does anyone have any experience cleaning this type of collar fabric? I want to get a jump on it before it gets too visible.

The discoloration I'm talking about is NOT visible in the close-up pics below (although it might appear so). The pics are just to give a closer look at the "collar" I'm talking about.

Thanks in advance for any ideas
