I love this unbuttoned on you and love the drama of the shoulder pads. I don’t see a pinhead situation at all. So many fun styling options with this piece. Fantastic!

Cee, LOL! I love that some people can actually wear their husband/boyfriend’s items and not look ridiculous — I’m not exactly short or small, but my husband is nearly a foot taller than I am and his clothes are way too oversized on me to wear!

Laura, that would be a good idea, but even though the pants are pictured with that blazer, they don’t appear to be available through Nordstrom — I haven’t investigated further though. Pants are a difficult fit on me, and those appear to be pleated, which is not a good look on me. Still, if I saw them, I’d try them on!

The blazer suits you (ha!). That said - have you thought about the pants, too? The print is so good on you that I could see both working beautifully, either together or separately.

Gryffin, it feels good! It’s roomy in the shoulder but comfortable across the back and chest, and I can button it up and sit down in it, which is nearly unheard of (hips make this impossible usually). But it doesn’t feel overwhelmingly large, just pleasantly so.

Janet - as you know I have a ton of boyfriend blazers. A few with shoulder pad (helmut Lang). Most are more fitted in the shoulder with not too big arms. That said the blazer looks awesome on. I didn’t notice the shoulders being out of proportion at all. I would compare to a size down to see. But looks incredible on. How does it feel?

Thanks, everyone! This is really encouraging. So often I try something on and see weirdness if it’s out of my usual wheelhouse — so my first impression was, gah, this is too wide on my shoulders! But giving it a more thorough look, and stepping out of my usual, allows me to see the potential. I have a feeling the small will get returned in short order but I suppose it never hurts to be safe and try all options.

I just watched a whole reel or post on how an oversized blazer should fit and how it’s cut and why - and do you think I can remember where I saw it ?? If I find it l’ll send it to you . I have an urge to change the button on this one , but I do like the fit . You have the height to carry it well . I had this jacket saved for future consideration too but now that I see what it actually looks like I don’t think it will work for me . What boots do you have on here ?

Thanks, everyone! The small is on the way for comparison’s sake, but I gotta admit, I like this more than I thought I would, when I first saw the shoulder fit.

My other blazers are quite fitted (two are actually uncomfortable to close, as I purchased them a decade ago when I was a size smaller), so I like the variation in style that this one provides. I love the Joan Jett inspiration pic, and could see this blazer becoming a bit of a workhorse!

I think it looks great. And how it’s supposed to look. I am wary of big shoulders because I look for longevity in my jackets as I don’t wear them that much. And big shoulders are a trend that comes and goes. But the print here is hard to pass up. My feeling would be keep and, if in a few years time you feel “over” the big shoulders, look into having them made smaller. But, for now, enjoy as is!

I like the fIt...... it is flattering on you and your bootcuts balance the shoulder. The shoulder should be a bit exaggerated suggesting the "borrowing from your bf" style.. ..
Shoulders noticibly wider than your hips as it would fit a man.
You wear it well.

It looks exactly like what it is supposed to be. To my eye, it is gently oversized for an offhand look. I think the arc waist shape is what saves it from boxy silliness.

Well, I think if you size down, it will look just like a regular blazer. A slightly oversized fit is trendy, looks edgy on you and overall fab, IMO.

I think it's great on you - the color, fit and style! I like it roomy - true boyfriend style. I have seen some at my store worn by customers and co-workers - I think that's the "look". Smaller size might appear not as fun but you can of course give it a chance for comparison .
