This sounds like a great solution to a common problem. The Jockey no panty line underwear is my favourite. Not extremely beautiful but it works better than the most expensive stuff I've tried.

I don't have the rolling up cami problem. But it reminds me of my "pumps and flats won't stay on my feet" problem. Others, reading about this issue, probably scratch their heads and wonder what I am talking about. Just a body type difference that is frustrating as all get-out to those who struggle with it and nearly incomprehensible to those who don't!

Just a short update:

I ended up purchasing two fitted tanks made by "Jockey" from their "no-panty line" range - they have some silicon at the bottom that keeps them from riding up. So far so good!! One was black and one a silvery grey - they are strictly for laying under sheer or for warmth.

I also bought a modal Jockey bodysuit. I will wear with a bra and am yet to try it but I think this could be good for higher waisted items such as a pencil skirt when wearing a sheer top untucked...or at least in my mind. We will see how I go!!

I tried to find the similar items on the US website without success.

Thanks, it is reassuring to know that several of us have the same problem!! I also find tucked tops constantly untuck....shortwaisted-ness again to fault.

And an English blog I follow talked about the return of the "bodysuit" so I guess this is another possibility. Although this opens up another "can of worms"!

Same here, the silky ones that are long enough to cover always roll back up, and if they're short enough to skim, they end up wearing like a sports bra! Getting one to lay flat over slick undergarments...losing battle! I always think that they need silicone strips at the bottom hem.

I do have a TON of the Wonder cami's from DownEast Basics though - They are also really long, but cotton. Affordable enough that I probably have 10-15 of them in assorted colors (I wear camis with everything it seems!) They don't roll so much because they're cotton and fairly grippy this company makes "modest" clothes, longer tees and such. I've never had a cami shrink or wear out and some of mine are 8+ years old.

This sounds familiar to me too. What I really hate is when I wear camisoles under dresses and they ride up so that it just looks like I'm really lumpy in the hips under the dress fabric. Which I kind of am, but not that much.

I have some longer Target tank tops (I think they're Mossimo; they're a thick knit and come in a whole bunch of colors) that work better than a lot of other options, but I'm short, so the extra length may not be enough if you're taller.

Constant issue here. Short waist and shelf hip - maddening combo. Snug but not tight fit is the best solution I've found. Not spandex or stretch, just regular cotton in a somewhat stretchy knit. Of course, when these rare creatures of 100% cotton - just snug enough - camis or tanks dies in the wash I cry inside just a little. They are so hard to come by for some reason.

Yep yep. Anything too loose or too tight rides up or rolls up. Perhaps we should call it the goldilocks cami problem. I don't have solutions, really, just commiseration.

Me too - anything with a lot of spandex and that's very body con is always rolling up and driving me nuts. I found a nice style by Jockey that is looser, almost an unfitted cami, knit jersey with a lace trim and adjustable straps. It is the only one I own that doesn't move around on me - and I think you and I have decided we have similar bodies (although I don't admit to knowing what 174 cm is off the top of my head :)

I hear you Kiwigirl! I have had success with Sportscraft camis... Also not sure of your height but recently loving english Long Tall Sally camis which are made for tall women. I tend to wear these under or for casual as the fabric is less smooth. The sportscraft are very smooth and I particularly choose these if they will/might peek out of a work or going out outfit... ps both ship to NZ...

I can relate. I'm short-waisted too, so it's a constant issue for me. I am loving fluid fits for this reason, but I suppose that's not much help if you're looking for a fitted tank. I hope someone else will chime in with something helpful, but I wanted to let you know you're not alone.

I am an hourglass/Figure 8 body type. I often wear tanks underneath for warmth and layering purposes and sometimes to give a flash of colour. I have normally chosen the tank to be quite fitting to give a smooth line, although the outer layer is normally not so fitted.

My problem is that they ride up constantly and I feel I spend lots of time adjusting and readjusting. They ride up over the shelf part of my hip.
Is this a common problem - and does anyone have a recommendation for choosing one that stays put? I would consider buying online for this purchase as sizing is not so much of an issue. I am not too worried about the cost either as it will be a real workhorse.
