The lasses are spot on welcome to the forum! You have strong tendencies towards both an inverted triangle AND hourglass. I cannot be sure by the photograph you’ve taken, though. It’s best to keep your hands by your sides for body type identification so that your full silhouette is unaltered.Think you can take another pic?

Actually, I just realized you have a similar shape as Ana, so my guess would be that like her, you're an hourglass that tends toward an inverted triangle.

I gotta say, I gain pretty evenly. I've been everything from 150 to 250 (i'm 208lbs in this shot) and my body kinda just expands or shrinks, but doesn't change shape in the least.
I've actually never compared measurements, i'm guessing I would just halve my hip measurement against my shoulder on a straight line? Any advice on how to get accurate comparison?

Hi bolod, I would say inverted triangle. I see the hourglass tendencies, too, but you're not that curvy in the hips, so to me the defining feature is still the strong shoulder line. Curious to see what others think.

Shiny, that's a smart concept. I don't believe I've heard that method of identifying your body type before.

(When I gain or lose weight I definitely notice it more in my bum and midsection than anywhere else on my body, so maybe I tend towards a pear or apple? Hmm.)

It's tough with this photo because the top of your shoulders are cropped off, and you're not quite facing the camera head on, but I'm going to guess that you are an hourglass with tendencies towards inverted triangle. It looks to me like your shoulders are just a tad wider than your hips - but not drastically so.

When you gain or lose weight, how does your shape change? For example, I gain weight first in my stomach but also very much in my upper body (back, chest, shoulders). But lastly - dead last - in my lower body (hips, butt, thighs) - so i definetly have a trend towards inverted triangle. A true hourglass will probably gain weight evenly all over. I am hourglass when I'm at ideal weight - but gain 20 lbs and I first lose my waist and next gain in my upper body so I quickly become an inverted triangle.

To my eyes, you are a very bodacious hourglass. Your shoulders do not look like they extend over your hips, which is what an inverted triangle would look like.

Your post on body types opened up my mind quite a bit. I'd always identified as an hourglass (b:w:h=45/33/45) but I also have linebacker shoulders and fairly large arms which i've always felt the need to cover up for the sake of overall body symmetry.
Where would you suggest I fall on the spectrum? As per your advice, i found a ridic tight/form fitting dress and took this shot first thing in the morning today.
