And it happened to occur on a day when temperatures were pushing the mid-90's. (This is unusually hot for our Seattle summers!) We have some restrictions to our company dress code - pants above mid-calf are not permitted - so to strike a balance between work-appropriate and fun, and to make sure I stayed cool enough outside and in the office (which gets quite hot and stuffy in the afternoon), I opted for loose, breathable fabrics:<br /> Classiques Entier houndstooth shell<br /> Vince Camuto emerald knit pencil skirt<br /> Second Base sequin-trimmed demi-camisole<br /> Angie's former black bead-and-cord necklace with feather &amp; lace pendant<br /> Low wedge sandals with bone-colored patent straps</p> <p>Just like last year, there were a variety of activities outside - water balloon slingshots (which I didn't participate in deliberately, but occasionally got a refreshing spray when a balloon landed nearby!) and adult-sized tricycles. And just like last year, yes, I rode a trike in a pencil skirt. (I wore Spanx shorts underneath, just in case!) </p> <p>The tricycles operate just like a toddler's in the sense that the wheels only spin as fast as your feet pedal - not like a bicycle that has gears to help you maintain your momentum! We all laughed so hard seeing our colleagues frantically pedaling while doing laps around the parking lot.</p> <p>(Just for kicks: as I don't have an action shot this year, I'm adding a repost of my pedaling-in-pencil-skirt photo from last year's picnic just because it always makes me smile.)</p> <p>Hope that you are all enjoying your weekend!</p> <p>(ETA: You can catch a glimpse of a part of my filled-with-boxes living room in #2.
