For this trip, I knew I'd have three work days and variable weather, so went with a skinny jeans and boots formula. The pivot piece de resistance is my cashmiracle (Carrie Bradshaw reference) coat that I found during our meetup at the outlets last weekend. I love that it goes well with most of my closet, is so cozy and yet structured. My lovely ladies gave me real-time feedback, as happens in these meetups, and I narrowed it down to this one over a man coat in dove grey. It's not very cold here in Atlanta yet, but I can drape it artfully over my shoulders and be very comfortable. The other two rave items in this capsule are my newish Elie Tahari foldable, over the knee boots that you may have seen on me in the meetup photos. I wore them all day shopping with the gang and Angie, in the rain, and nary a blister or rub...which is why *gasp* they were the only footwear I brought on this business trip! Oh yeah, and the Contour 360 Farrah jeans, which as comfy as leggings, but don't bag or creep or do anything to be noticed really. So, thought I'd dash in (I'm eating my dinner in my room tonight) and share some pics and thoughts. What am I dining on, you may ask. For the second time in three days, the hotel's shrimp and grits...cuz, it's the South. A baby bottle of prosecco to quench the fire from the spicy sauce, and what more do I need (other than to actually be home)? The Southern hospitality has been amazing, I can't remember getting so many compliments, and I have Angie and you all to thank for sharpening my look. I admit to some trepidation re. my colored highlights (see pics), but I switched in an older pair of teal specs to match and Bob's your uncle. I had 3 ladies and one man at work comment on the look (favorably). So, it's been a good trip, successful in many ways. Was able to have dinner and then breakfast with a gentleman who came to speak in the company town hall about his experience with prostate cancer and how our treatment changed his life (he's in remission). Helps give the day-to-day trivial life/work issues some perspective...</p> <p>ETA: the find for the coat is not the same color. For some reason the color I bought is not available online anywhere, so I had to post the oatmeal version. </p>
