In addition to Angie's blog post, I found a 'dry touch' sunscreen from Neutrogena with 55 5PF: http://tinyurl.com/dceltm It helped my face feel less cakey and slick.

as Angie said in her blog post, I think the only way to look truly chic all day is to take multiple showers...beyond that there's no hope. Of course, lightweight, breathable wovens are best, but at a certain point you're just going to get sticky. Which is OK, everyone else will be sticky too.

My answer: I -don't- manage to look chic. At all. It doesn't matter what I'm wearing or how I prepare. My body becomes a greaseball, my hair frizzes up, and my face becomes an oil slick. I have long resigned myself to this fate and have given up all hopes of ever looking sleek and polished. This might be TMI but it seriously bugs me: My hair tends to smell funky and sweaty once it starts to warm up. I don't know why. It happens regardless of the shampoo or product I use. It really bugs me but I haven't found a solution yet.

I'm a princess about air conditioning. I can't live without it. But I hate it when it's turned down to 65, or used when it is under 80 degrees outside. That's just a waste of energy. 72 is my sweet spot, but that is still too warm for most people. But I'd much rather be too cold than too hot for the reasons mentioned above. Both are equally uncomfortable to me, but at least when I'm too cold I can still LOOK nice.

My favorite thing to wear on days like that--and you'll probably hate my answer--is a lightweight sack dress. Virtually all my dresses that I have bought lately are polyester. I have given up on finding natural fibers at my price point--at least exclusively. I do have a few cotton ones though, and I'll be sticking to them on the scorching hot days. My only exception to that rule is the blue UO sack dress because it is so lightweight and doesn't really cling anywhere on my body, so the fact that it is polyester doesn't really have an effect on its breathability.

I grew up in HK and continued to travel there for many subsequent business trips. I know that weather all too well. It's the worst :0(

Here's what I suggest:

http://youlookfab.com/2009/05/.....-the-heat/

What REALLY gets to me is the air-conditioning in doors. It's 100 outside and 65 inside. Sometimes it's just impossible.

I wear breezy dresses and strappy sandals all summer. When it goes over 105 degrees F (and our humidity goes up), it's too hot for any accessories except cold washcloths.

Mac, we have very hot and humid summers where I live and I find it is so hard to stay fresh and polished. Our temperatures are usually in the mid-90's and I can't even tolerate jewelry, never mind layers. So, needless to say, I'm often under accessorized. I'll be following this thread with interest to hear what the others have to say.

Mac, I am a sweat monster. It's bad. So I wear a lot of black tops -- or prints that hide sweat marks. But usually, all summer long, I wear black tops.

Also, Botox under the armpits is magical. That's how sweaty I am. I had it done 2 years ago and those were the best two years of my life because I was able to wear color! (They say it only lasts 6 months but it lasted 2 years for me!) Now I'm back to all black. As soon as I can afford it again I will do it again. I feel so much better about myself when I'm not a sweaty mess.

Otherwise, I have no tips. Luckily my face/hair isn't really much of an issue for me, but my upper body is a nightmare.

Many people imagine that Canada is just a huge, cold country. And, in the winter, it can be. However, Toronto frequently reaches the 30s (above 90 degree farenheit) and is wickedly humid in the summers.

I find this weather tough. I perspire a lot, my hair gets puffy but also sticks to my face and neck, I sunburn easily so tend to be covered in sun block... ugh.

How do YOU manage to look chic on hot, muggy days? What are your favourite outfits and fabrics for when it gets sticky?

Thanks.
