We shop together often and we are always honest about our opinion of something when the other asks "How does this look?" I know the parts of her body she is self conscious about and she knows mine. </p> <p>So, she comes out of the dressing room carrying a striped top that had wider stripes on the arms than on the body. I didn't see her in the top, but I suspected that it would make her arms look fat. (Which happens to be one of the parts of her body she is very self conscious about.) I asked her if she was going into the dressing room with that, and she said "No, I already tried it on, I love it!!" So I kept my mouth shut and figured it looked better on than I expected. Then I saw her in the top over the weekend and it was really unflattering. My friend is VERY style conscious. I think she liked it because it was reminiscent of a pajama top and was probably very comfy. But, I felt that saying something at that point was only asking for trouble, so I didn't say anything. If she had asked me what I thought, I would have been honest, but she didn't ask, and she already bought the shirt.</p> <p>Have any of you ever been in a similar situation? Would you have done anything differently? </p>
