I don't have anything *against* color.....my home used to have orange accents and then purple. I've had pretty colourful art on the walls too. But I now feel more drawn to blacks/whites and greys. Furniture was always dark. </p> <p>The shift to white walls marks a change in us as well as our home....our interiors reflect our own clean, crisp, modern and somewhat minimalistic sense of style (holds true for both me &amp; my husband). And it contrasts beautifully with all the dark wood we have! You can't see it here, but our upholstered furniture is black leather. And all wood in the house is dark wenge. All the different coats of paint and waiting for everything to dry in between sure was a pain. And then the "cleaning" part ---- ugh! It took hours to get the paint off tiles &amp; floorboards. What a great idea. Painting light colors over dark is such a pain. Two coats of primer and then at least two coats of paint. I've been busy redecorating and the project is finally (almost) over. </p> <p>We decided to paint the house. The beige walls with the purple accent wall was getting monotonous. We decided to go all-white! Yes, the dark walls needed upto 5 coats of paint to go white! And the doors &amp; windows needed 3 coats each. Phew! </p> <p>As I had imagined, white walls and white doors &amp; windows (which were previously black) make our apartment look airier, brighter and more spacious. We are loving the look! As for the accent walls - I chose stone finish wallpaper to give it a natural yet cosy look that complements the white. </p> <p>1&amp;2 is the dining area (combined with living area). We still need to install new light fixtures we've bought and add B&amp;W digital art to the blank space next to the tv. </p> <p>3&amp;4 are the guest room. I think this turned out rather well. This is where I click all my WIW photos, btw! </p> <p>5&amp;6 is our bedroom. I know this wallpaper is dark for a small room, but I love the moody, artsy vibe very very much. </p> <p>These pictures don't do enough Justice, as the textures and the overall room effect is lost. I'll click new pictures once that light fixtures &amp; artworks are in place. I'm just so happy with the wallpaper &amp; paint, I simply had to share! </p> <p>Hope y'all had a gr8 weekend too! </p>
