90 days should be enough to know- I did the first four treatments one week apart and I could tell after the third round that it was working.
No, I wasn't aware or any hairs falling out. You shave before treatment and for me it just seemed like it didn't grow back (as opposed to growing in and then falling out).

L'Abeille, yes, like laser , but I think a broader spectrum of light and fewer safety precautions needed for home use. It seems that many units have a fixed number of flashes. The other choice seems to be replacing bulbs.

Thin White Duchess, it's great to hear you're happy with the results!
I have actually bought a Phillips unit. It has a 90 day return offer, do you think that's long enough to know if it will work well? I do have fair skin and dark hair.

May I ask, were you aware of the hairs falling out?

I am very very happy with the one I got from Costco- I think it was called Bella Flash. I have dark hair and light skin, so the ideal conditions for laser. It has a much larger treatment head than the Tria so it takes about 20-30 minutes to do both my lower legs. Armpits take under a minute each. I got it 6 months ago-- some areas continue to grow back, but they are much more sparse and it takes much much longer for the hair to grow. I'd highly recommend it if you have dark hair/light skin. I'd say it is very successful. I'm going to keep using it every month for or so for any hairs that come back to try to get fully permanent results.

You mean like laser? My daughter priced this a while back; she was interested in going halvesies with me or one of her sisters, which would have made it a reasonable proposition. When she researched a little further, she discovered that (at least the unit she was interested in) came with a fixed number of doses loaded in, which wouldn't have extended to 2 users; not sure if it would cover as much as the clinic treatment would.

Hi
Would love to hear any personal experience of home light - based hair removal / reduction. I am tired of all the other methods and wondered if a personal unit is worth the $500 or so on sale. I priced a local clinic option, and that seemed to be up to $1000 to treat a couple of body areas.
I have to post and run, sorry.
Thanks for any opinions - good, bad or ugly!
