Everything has turned out beautifully!  cheryle (Dianthus) on "Home Decor Update" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/home-decor-update#post-1004290 Mon, 12 Aug 2013 17:34:56 +0000 cheryle (Dianthus) 1004290@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Thanks ladies.  I have to admit that the chair project took less time than expected.  We just layered over the existing fabric on the dining room chairs, removed only the fabric on the kitchen chairs but re-used the padding, and added 2" of high density foam for the BB chairs.  I used spray paint on the chairs so it was 20 minutes per coat.  I also used a compressor and staple gun on them all. The painting took longer than I had planned.  I have never painted without a helper to do edging and never with a smooth ceiling so more taping.  I think it was about 5 hours for taping and two coats.  BethAnn, hilarious.  I wore a pair of grey knee length fitness pants and a super baggy men;s tank from walmart.  They are both ruined now.  :) This was my first spray paint job on furniture and I have a few more planned now.  It was fast and not too hard to do.  I am sure I will get better with practice too. I like the colour you chose for the DR, and great job with all the chairs! cheryle (Dianthus) on "Home Decor Update" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/home-decor-update#post-1003874 Mon, 12 Aug 2013 01:27:15 +0000 cheryle (Dianthus) 1003874@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Hello all you lovely fabbers.  I have been absent while getting the new house in order.  I made a fair bit of progress this weekend.  I wanted to add a bit of color over the builder beige so when the painter cancelled and I had a Friday off, I decided to paint the DR myself.  I found a new contractor to do the BR and ensuite in two weeks.  That evening, we recovered the kitchen chairs.  That went well, so Saturday morning, we recovered the 6 DR chairs.  We had guests for dinner so didn't get much else done but cleaning up and making dinner.  This morning we golfed 9 holes and then I redid the breakfast bar chairs.  Tony also installed a dimmer on the DR chandelier and a SS tip out tray below the sink. I still need to stencil the DR wall and hang the mirror, blinds and curtains but the walls are painted, chairs recovered, and rug in place. Here are a few pics of my projects. 1.  Dining room before 2.  Dining room painted with new rug 3.  DR chairs before 4.  DR chairs after 5.  Kitchen chairs with new fabric 6  Breakfast bar chairs before 7.  BB chairs after 8.  BB chairs in place. 9.  tip out tray - great place to hide the drains and sponges. The chair color doesn't show well in the pics.  Probably the flash.
