He gets a bow 'round his neck at Christmas time. He just relocated to the garden of our new house this week. The spot is the approach to our front door. </p> <p>The carpenter's plane belonged to my grandfather. When my grandmother died, and their household was being dispersed I was asked if I wanted anything. I asked for grandpa's plane. When I was little, I used to sit in his walkout basement workshop and watch him work. If he was working with the plane, I would augment my own curly hair with the curly wood shaving 'extensions'. The wood is worn smooth and shiny from use. One is a piece of pottery that is locally made. I have it setting on my kitchen counter. My husband got it for me for Christmas one year. I am also showing a photo of the furniture in my foyer. I love the tall mirror but I really cherish the glass plate. It has beautiful shades of purple and turquoise and green. We got it in San Antonio when we went there for our first anniversary so that makes it extra special for me. And finally is a ceramic urn and pitcher. The true color is a pumpkin shade of orange. For a long time my island was empty and I was so pleased when I found this set. And I got it with money my dad gifted to me.
