I am constantly changing the small stuff: pillows, candles, decor items, throws. Usually with something else we already have but every now and then I head over to Etsy to see if there's anything tempting for one of those "needs something" spots.

And reorganizing - I am relentlessly searching for ways to solve problems we keep having, e.g. Where are my sunglasses? Where are my indoor classes? Where is my phone? And so on.

We do paint (or rather, have painting done) but have to keep painters safe from Bodie so that takes some management. Fortunately we have the barn to take him to when someone must be roaming the house.

DH is 62, I turn 60 in the fall. We change often and enjoy it. However, we are preparing to downsize and currently discussing this very subject. At present we often rotate art, pillows, throws, dishes, etc with the seasons. We are handy and enjoy outside and inside projects. Painting a room to change the mood often happens as we move to springtime. My precious father in law always referred to it as "fluffing my nest" - like a bird preparing for a new season. Given the smaller spaces our habits will need to change. I refuse to rent a storage building to hold stuff and will likely start the Swedish Death Cleaning process in coming months.

DH and I like to change things up, even if it is only rearranging the furniture. We have been in our current house five years and have pretty much redecorated most rooms (we move slowly) and are starting to think about changing a few, either because the color no longer works or just because we are bored with it We won't get new furniture usually, but will repaint and maybe swap out linens and wall decor. The layout of this house doesn't give us a lot of options for rearranging. Decorating our house has always been a fun way of expressing ourselves, and luckily we work well together.

I'd like to switch things out once in a while, but DH is one of those who thinks that if you get something it should never be moved or replaced unless broken/nearly worn out. I just get a nasty "If you don't like it, why'd you buy it?" argument every time...

We don’t redo things on schedule, only because something needs replacing. For instance, Bob Barker, our elderly Jack Russell. sleeps on our bed. When he leaps off, he can tweek his back on the slippery wood floor. We had throw rugs on either side of the bed, but had to buy an area rug for Bob, so he won’t injure himself. We do try to lift him off the bed but he’d rather jump.

Now that I think of it, most of our redos have been because Bob (or Mr Skunky) wrecked something. We used to have a gorgeous turquoise rug with autumn leaves on it in the family room. I think we had just adopted Bob, and he licked five years of grease off the BBQ, and came in and vomited this black grease on the beautiful rug. And of course it wouldn’t come out, so we had to get a new rug.

We need to do something about the two loveseats in our family room. The upholstery is grungy and the back cushions are saggy. They are about 20 years old, so maybe we’ve gotten our money’s worth. I’m thinking of replacing them with a sectional for a little more seating, but I need advice from an expert, probably.

I never finish anything lol ... Everything is like 87% done forever :D

In reality, I try to wait until something is properly worn out and then replace it with the best I can manage, so it lasts a long time. For example, our master bathroom was super-dated but I held out until it truly needed repair (tiles were getting irreparably worn, etc), and then we did a full reno to really spruce it up. Ditto our living room when our 'first home' furniture wore out (we didn't Reno but did a full redecorate). I keep things very simple and neutral so things don't date too quickly. I do spend a good amount of time making sure clutter is under control as to me that's the thing that makes a house look the worst (my kids disagree and their rooms are theirs to keep as they choose). Definitely no schedule!

We are pretty much always tweaking our decor. For example we just replaced a pair of lamps that were in a prominent place in our living room. Also just replaced the light fixture over the kitchen table. We are art lovers and like to buy art on vacation, so the art is shuffled around fairly regularly. Over the eight years we've been married we've replaced almost every stick of furniture in our family room. When we retired we changed our den into a joint home office with a partner desk. So, yeah... we are Team Change It Up As The Mood Or Need Arises.

No surprise here, just like in fashion I am extremely slow. Actually even slower because it's a bigger job and I can't deal with it. But really, right now my house needs so much major work done that decor doesn't even register. Things like new windows, etc, major expenses.

I change linens, cushions, plants and art on our walls occasionally. I have a few small decor pieces in my minimal house and change them sometimes, too. Not too often. I rarely change our furniture arrangement since the rooms’ layout leaves almost no options.
Last weekend we change some of photos in our rooms. I have a collection of photos, some of them are my DH’s and some are vintage. Took most of the day to reframe and hang them. But I do get bored of having the same art for years and like to rotate through our collection. Do the same with a small number of original paintings that were gifted to us by our friends who are artists. Just bought new chairs and looking for a new rug for the living room. The old ones were bought probably 7 years ago.

Well I have been in my house almost 20 years now and still not ‘finished’ decorating, but I am getting close finally ;)

I do have seasonal (spring/summer and fall/winter) duvet covers which I enjoy switching out along with my wardrobe. I would also like spring and Thanksgiving/fall tablecloths (I have a Christmas one already and various non-seasonal options). But I’m patient about waiting for the ‘right’ ones (price and style) because I consciously try not to get caught up in seasonal decor fads, and also recognize my limits when it comes to storage and sheer motivation to swap things out (eg. I haven’t managed to prioritize getting my summer hall rug out… it’s based on white and not great for mud or snow so I put it away for the winter in favour of a dark durable one). I don’t swap out any tchotchkes.

I’ve been slowly redecorating our small summer cottage with vintage, used and ‘found’ objects which has turned out quite satisfying, I started with a colour scheme (aqua/light blue and a bit of yellow, which picked up some existing wallpaper), bought a few new things to set the stage, and have slowly acquired items from vintage resellers, thrift and garage sales, the local facebook buy-nothing group, and even curb cycling - one neighbour seems to be conveniently slowly purging their house of aqua/light blue items! Overall I am finding this method more satisfying than buying a bunch of new stuff and am doing more of it for my home as well. The quality and even style of things like chairs is more attractive in vintage items too.

I rearrange the living room furniture every few months and switch up the smaller decor pieces seasonally. I think it comes from years of selling seasonal merchandise and always being exposed to the next new thing. I really love home decor. Bedroom linens and decor pillows get switched out seasonally, as do bathroom towels and candles, soap dispensers etc. To note: I didn't pay retail for much of my collection of small decor pieces and soft goods , which makes it easier to do . I also collect vintage dishes and switch up dining room table settings for different seasons and holidays.

I don’t redecorate all that often anymore. Very little changes occur once I get the rooms just the way I want them. In the living room, I might seasonally change out the pillows or a throw, rearrange a plant, some artwork or a knickknack but that’s about it.

I used to feel the need to redecorate more often when I was younger but now it seems like a never ending cycle to keep up with the decor trends and that just feels like wasteful consumption for me.

I don't repaint, cause that would be difficult with the animals, but everything else I change often! Luckily DH and I have similar taste :)

Every season I change up the wall decor, as we have dozens of needlepoints that MIL made. Plus my photography and other artwork that either DH and I chose or that we inherited. We have a rotating art show!

The spare room has served many functions. Now it's a sitting room/holds my wardrobe, but it's been office space, mom's room, roommates room, cat isolation room, and music studio/ crafting room.

We often change the configutation of furniture, or have to replace things that the furry ones damage.

I am not one that changes things quickly. I tend to wait until pieces wear out or almost do. I try and buy as good as I can and make it last. Occasionally I will update linen or cushions or similar, or swap pieces around within a room. Our house is old though and there is not a lot of scope for changing rooms around!!
