This was SO helpful. I took to heart your advice about a sweater and was about to start my search, when suddenly it dawned on me that I already have something that works beautifully. It's a handmade ivory cap-sleeve sweater with overall pearls knit into it. It sits at the waist. My mom actually knitted it some years ago for herself. I "inherited" (read "appropriated") it, because she no longer wears it. It's timeless. Your collective guidance brought me to this. And saved me a lot of time shopping online, because where I live it's a retail wasteland. </p> <p>I plan to wear it with sparkly ball drop earrings (costume) in ivory with yellow metal and probably one simple gold bracelet. (hard to describe) I think wearing pearl jewelry would be a bit &nbsp;redundant, given all the pearls in the sweater. Does this sound ok?</p> <p>Again, a thousand thank you's! I’m also wider in the hips and I like bringing more interest into the top part of an outfit. The sweater in my Finds looks nicer in person — it’s a subtle sparkle that works nicely even for daytime so it’s more versatile than a lot of “party tops.” In fact, I’ve already worn the Anthro metallic tee — it’s comfortable, easy and flattering as it drapes nicely, and pairs with anything from distressed jeans to a skirt. It also looks good under a blazer. </p> <p>The nice thing about these pieces is that they are pretty timeless and versatile. I realized that even though my old sequin top was pretty, it showed up in every holiday party photo of me for years, LOL. So it was time for a change. </p> <p>Good luck!
