I like #3 the best for a holiday party. I like the idea of wearing the patterned shoes with #2. I love the color and cut of the velvet top, however, if the fit is off, I think you should look for something different. One of the best lessons I've learned from YLF is that fit can make the difference between a ho-hum outfit and a great outfit.

Love them all, shoes included: nr 1 is boho perfect for housing anything, icy blue velvet is refined, feminine and festive for going out, nr 3 is edgy, for rocking a party!:-) Just don't dare to cut nr 2, it is perfect length, IMHO.

They all work, #3 looks more festive.
Really love the colour and cut of the blue top on you, maybe keep it on one day around the house to see if it stretches out?
#1 is a great everyday look, it could look more festive with cropped velvet trousers for instance.

I like them all and think you look great in red, so 1 is a good one to push your comfort zone with.

2- the color is fab, as is style. If you don’t like the fit, think about looking for this color in a crushed velvet, which give a little texture. Or maybe just try on another one in the same size; the inconsistency in cutting is crazy but sometimes can be useful if they have a few in the same size on the rack. And I agree about it wanting necklace, bling earrings or great shoes.

3 is a great look. Sleek, polished and very festive.

Ooh, I like those shoes! The way you've paired them with the necklace and let the rest be solids is great. I hear you on the "adventurousness" of patterned shoes. I'm currently wearing these loafers and fantasizing about taking that step in booties. The loafers have been far more versatile and flexible than I expected. Maybe yours will be dark horse work horses too!

I also love the velvet tunic, it looks most festive to me. I see what you mean about the bust being tight, I often have that problem. I wonder if it would be better with a silky camisole underneath it? I also like the length as it is and would love to see it with the necklace and shoes in #3.

Interesting . I quite like the first one , but I'd change the shoes. They aren't bookending your hair, nor are they tying in any colour of that blouse that I can see. As Sarah mentioned above, the ice blue in the top begs for some velvet shoes of the same colour. That would be VERY cool! Maybe wear the blouse with navy pants instead, and some navy or blue velvet shoes? (or is there too much black in the top?) And Iagree with whoever suggested picking up that blue with some stone/crystal earrings in that colour . The light blue tunic is great - perfect colour for you, but I agree it looks just a touch tight across the bust.

I'm with shiny -- the shoes and bling in #3 make it feel the most festive, but I do like that velvet top in #2 a lot, and want to see it with the necklaces and pointy shoes. The floral top is great, but the print seems more summery to me, or more autumnal? I could just be biased, because I have such a hard time wearing florals myself.

Just realized you are petite but the Halogen velvet tunic is regular sized. As a tip, from one petite to another... I was shopping on Macy's online today and they had some velvet tops for super cheap. I was specifically looking for short sleeve, not 3/4, so not sure what they have for that. But may be worth a shot.

I adore that velvet top (#2) on you -- color is great on you and the fit looks great to my eye. I would just want to see it with the shoes in #3!

#3 outfit meanwhile is a slam dunk in my opinion. Love the necklace, love the shoes.

Would the necklace work with velvet top? Or do you have pearls?

What are you going to do for a handbag?

Oh -- #1 is good too, I am just not feeling it as much for a holiday outfit. I'd also like to see it with different shoes. With a denim jacket over it, I can totally see this for a smart casual outfit. The top has huge potential, just maybe not for holiday parties. I know, it's red, and red = holiday. It's just lacking glitz or texture or something. I DO think you can wear this color, but I get you on wanting to reserve brighter colors for accents -- as I am the same way.

LOVE #1 and #3, both of those are super (and would work nicely for non-holiday smart casual, too). I like the idea of #2 a lot, that shade of blue is lovely on you and the added texture is fun. I'm not sure about the fit along the bustline, as you mentioned, but I feel like a lot of velvety tops are inclined to do this so hopefully you'll get better feedback there. Also quite like this length, actually; it's a bit more dramatic. If you DO keep it I think adding a little cropped jacket could be a fun alternative option.

I like the first outfit a lot. The blue in the top is jumping out at me -- so you've created that burgundy-ice blue pairing after all! Wonder if maybe a pair of pale blue sparkly earrings could underline the effect?

Love the color scheme and texture in #2 but agree the cut of the top is not ideal.

I think #3 is my favorite. It creates a kind of subtle interest that is very pleasing. The metallic necklaces and lightness in the shoes play nicely off your hair.

I’m still working on holiday outfits. I have a few casual events at people’s homes. I still do not have an outfit sorted for the one slightly dressy house party but am hitting the mall tomorrow. These are all somewhat casual which is what I want for most of my events.

1 – red blouse that I posted about here https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....red-blouse . Shown here with burgundy pants and nude pumps. I’m on the fence about this look. Angies recent blog posting about personality and color really helped me understand why I’m happy to have bright red as an occasional supporting act but rarely the starring role. I still might wear this outfit but it’s not a total winner to me.

2. Thinking about velvet and Burgundy and Ice, I got this asymmetrical top to try. Worn with same burgundy pants and nude pumps. It is a bit long, which I could fix by shortening the hem, but it also pulls a little at the bust and under the armholes, despite being stretchy. I tried the next size up and it’s way too big overall. I will probably return it. I adore the color!

3. Black ruffled cuff sweater with burgundy pants. These shoes are not exactly “party” shoes but a new style possibility for me given that they are a PRINT and not too dark. Wow am I getting adventurous! Very comfortable, and quite surprising that I can wear any sort of pointy toe flat given my low volume feet.

As always would love to hear your feedback and ideas.
