To attend that I know about I have - two women's nights out - family lunch out (extended family) - Christmas day lunch - Casual drinks and BBQ - two end of year prizegivings - A drinks/cocktail party - Client lunch for work - casual work do (probably involving a bike trail) I have a new dress that will get worn to at least two (maybe three) of these occasions.  If it is colder I might wear my orange knit dress again to one as well.  I also have a navy/black/cream dress that I hope to wear at least once, and a couple of floral summer frocks that I hope to mix in.  No doubt jeans and a nice top will make an appearance to a couple too as will bike pants to the work do!! Oh, and Sterling that happened to me, too. Actually changing seasons change my real  color, cut and FABRIC(!!) prefferencies a lot!!-but dreaming feels  good anyway:-). West Coast wear is more casual than when I lived back east, but I can't resist a little fancy for holiday events. I've decided that for Thanksgiving, I'll wear my blue metallic Finery London sweater (shout-out to Annagybe for mentioning FL on YLF!) with statement blue jeans--haven't decided which yet--and likely shoes involving silver metallic (ditto), plus statementy earrings in horn and pink lacquer. Two other holiday-related outfits I've decided on are for an art opening event plus a holiday party later that same night. The party is 70s themed, and I am not wearing that outfit all day... It will involve a circa-1971 maxi "hostess dress" with black bodice and neon orange/yellow print skirt, gold platform sandals (not vintage but should work well enough), vintage orange hoop earrings, and a vintage gold chain belt. Earlier that day I'll be in a gray postapocalyptic distressed hooded mini dress, wine tights, and gray tall boots. The long-range forecast says temps will be around freezing, which is colder than usual. I've had nearly all of this too long for it to be in finds  I'll probably do a packing/help-me-pick-please post with photos closer to the time, but right now it looks like: 1.  Black cotton fleece dress from Hannah Andersson, tall black boots, what tights and bottom layer shirt--black, plum shirt/Wolford tights, or gold sparkles? 2. Black bubble dress with blue hems  from Lou & Grey/A. Taylor Loft, black l/s T-shirt, black or navy tights, blue rag socks, what shoes? Oxfords? Loafers with tights, no socks? Mary Janes? 3. Jeans of ink fabric & black velvet pattern with cranberry or green velvet top. Need a layer to stay warm--l/s leopard long john shirt? Black cardi? Something more festive? Loafers? Blush booties? Star garland as necklace? 4. Bootcut dark blue jeans with what? Booties, L/s white Hilfiger button down with tux ruffles, daisy embroidered belt, turquoise statement necklace (?) and some jacket or cardi? Or something too heavy to wear in Florida? 5. Fantasy outfit. or Soft Surroundings brown paisley leggings, chunky cream-colored sweater, booties? (6 & 7 Tops to wear with pants from 3 & 4) Plan A was to have a 24-hr layover in NYC, DC, or Atl, so either fit everything into very easy-to-manage carry-ons or check a bag and just carry what we need for overnight. That might not work out, schedule and budget-wise. I’m hoping to wear the subtle bling pants and maybe my new philosophy cashmere with a yet to be found statement necklace. Or my K/R Post outfit. Then I can wear those tassel earrings. Still on the hunt for a dressier top and perfect shoes. And I'd love to replace the cranberry cowl neck. It is probably over 15 years old. I will be watching for styling wide legs too. Are you working on holiday outfits yet?  Lets share our plans, advise, questions, etc. I am loving the idea of below the knee dresses with tall boots.  I have an old fit and flare dress and new tall boots for one holiday event.  Looking for ideas to style velvet wide leg (or more like flares) pants. Have a couple of casual events to start thinking about, so maybe your photos will inspire me...
