I love #3 and #4. Those are 11 out of 10.

But #1 is daringly fabulous and less conventional. My thumbs up for that rendition too.

loving 3 and 4. Much prefer the party mostly on the bottom only so to speak with the pop of necklace on top than the previous versions. Well done. A party outfit with some understated tones is often sexier, chic-er and more pulled together than full on glam and glitter. Really well done!

Another vote for #4. The heeled oxfords help casualize the outfit. To my eye #1 doesn't work because of the high contrast of tights and footwear.

Hmm ... That's a very interesting observation carambola. I wonder how the outfit would look with a white button down, nude hose and white pumps. It's an irony that I don't own any of that o_O

Love 3 and 4! It's so interesting and instructive to see this set of pictures compared to the last set with the white tops. I love the opaque tights with heeled oxfords here with the long sleeved tops especially, whereas the sheer hose looked much better with the white, as in 6.

Thank you girls :). I like version 4 the best too. I am loving this exercise. I think I am starting to understand what looks good on me and what doesn't :). Compared to the white top I clearly see the darker tops working better with the skirt. Mainly because they do not highlight my short waist as much as a high contrast top does.

High five Rae on the striped bag! I love yours a little more than mine though

I love 3-4, and I also love the clutch (team striped bag FTW!). The light colored oxfords look a little jarring and out of place to me. Maybe the summer factor Denise mentioned is it.

Wow, I really like 3, 4 and 5. As far as the casual version in 1 and 2, could you achieve the same thing with flat black shoes? The flat oxfords in 1 aren't in themselves shortening, but the high contrast footwear is shortening and it's throwing me more than I would like.

The grey oxfords seem fairly summery to me, like I could see them worn with a pair of light denim shorts or a sun dress.

Version #4 is my absolute favourite. I really like the skirt with a darker long sleeved top and the oxford heels give you a longer look. The necklace adds a nice bit of sparkle to fill in the very flattering v-neckline. The dark jacket, either leather or cloth, also works well but if you think it's going to be warm with dancing you probably don't need it. If you feel the heels will hamper your dancing perhaps you could tuck a pair of black ballet slippers in your clutch for kicking up your heels as the dance floor steams up.

I had done a post on this skirt earlier and never got around to post new outfits with the suggestions given by other fabbers. I like the look and coverage of the darker hose, so have decided to go with that. And since the polka dot shoes didn't get enough love I have left that out as well and went for simpler shoes this time.

I have used a darker top and think it works better in not highlighting my very short waist. Also the party is now a house Christmas party. So I also wish my clothes to be a tad casual. What are your opinions?

Pic 1 - With navy button down shirt, gray blazer and oxfords. This is my attempt at casualizing the outfit. There would be a lot of dancing involved and I would like to wear the most comfortable shoes and yet look dressed! I understand that the shoe choice is leg shortening but if that is the only compromise I would be fine with it. What other issues you see with this outfit?

Pic 2 - Same outfit with heeled navy oxfords.

Pic 3 - With black faux leather jacket. It might be too warm for this and I would end up removing the jacket anyway. I also could replace leather with regular black blazer.

Pic 4 - Without a topper. I like this the best for comfort and movement! I can also semi tuck the button down which is much more flattering than other tops that cut me in half. I added a necklace to this outfit.

Pic 5 - With a black embroidered top and necklace. The necklace doesn't throw out as well. And I think a sleeved top looks better with the short skirt.

Pics 6/7 - From previous post for comparison.

I forgot to add a clutch to my outfits but the clutch in the last pic is what I intend to carry. Thanks for looking and commenting as always. They mean a lot to me.
