But it has to be cropped just right, I think, so you don't lose your waist. You could experiment also with a fitted, cardigan (hitting no lower than high hip length), worn buttoned up. Heck, turn it around backwards so the buttons are in the back, just to be different. Think 1950s? With ballet flats? Or kitten heels?  Otherwise, my go-to for dressing down a dress is to pop on my F21 pleather cropped moto jacket in the fall/winter, or a jean jacket in the spring/summer. You could also try a boyfriend jacket. You could also put a pullover on over the top of the dress.  Maybe add some patterned tights? Flats instead of heels? Normally, tights and booties and a cardi will take any dress down a notch in terms of formality, but that's also much more difficult with a dress this colour. Hmm. I'm going to wait to see what others suggest, as I am stumped. Then again, are they used to you dressing up? Only thing is, my families are always very casual people and I feel like if I wear it, I'll look way too dressed up compared to everyone else. Can anyone give me ideas on how to dress this down as best I can?
