They're practically weightless but give a lot of sparkle. I've gotten non-Christmas-branded ones on Amazon and even at Home Depot, in the outside lighting department. And then very lightweight ornaments that the grandkids might enjoy? Paper chains and paper snowflakes come to mind. And tinsel/icicles. It would not be all that traditional but maybe it would scratch the decorated tree itch.</p> <p>For other decorations, my mother has a lighted Christmas village display. When we were little we played with the (non-china) manger scene. But our favorite was the tree, because it's such a focal point. Last year, I was dealing with a physical injury and this year, it's depression exacerbated by seasonal affective disorder.
