Thanks for indulging my indulging, @Shevia Oh yes, I think you may be right - I didn't even pay attention to the shoulders in these photos! Hmm now I'm wondering if keeping it is worth it at all, since shoulders are notoriously the most difficult (& expensive) part of a garment to alter (especially since it's lined)... Yes, maybe I'll try scrunching to see if that helps.

Yes, the brand is new to me but I did a quick Google search & I liked how most of their pieces have that architectural drape going on - I'm actually surprised at how fitted this jacket is, considering how loose & airy most of their styles seem to be? But maybe that's because outerwear is usually more structured. I think leaving it open gives it more of that characteristic drape though, you're right.

I guess the moral of this story is that I need to be a bit more discerning when I thrift items - I get so excited by the choices of things that I can physically see & know will be big enough to fit me (rather than shopping online & guessing). The low price probably doesn't help me to exercise restraint, either! The silk jumper is funny because I wasn't too sure about it when I saw it - it looked pretty 'plain' in the shop. But you're right, it's one of those good basics that I need - I'm too distracted by all of the colours & more 'interesting' pieces instead. Maybe once secondhand shopping becomes less of a novelty to me I will behave

Oh thank you for indulging me. It is a beautiful piece. This is my candid assessment of the fit - I think the shoulders may be too wide for you. The drape is characteristic of the brand and it looks best on you open, not buttoned. The lapels are great. I think you should try scrunching the sleeves and wearing it open and see how you like it. The scrunch may somewhat prop up the shoulders, if that makes sense.
Love the silk sweater. Those are the bread and butter of thrifting - high quality essentials that will make everything shine!

This post is for @Shevia, who wanted to see my secondhand Crea Concepts orange wool blazer jacket that was thrifted for £6! Oh, & I believe @Phoebe also mentioned something on my other thread about wearing my thrifted animal print blouse under a jacket, so here you go too

I'm not so sure about the fit, though. I think I'll have to shorten the sleeves (unless I always wear them scrunched or rolled up lol) but the waist fit is perplexing me. When I tried it on at first over my clothes, I thought it looked great. But after washing it & trying it on again, I'm wondering whether the draped front hits at a weird place in the front. It follows the curve of my back but photos #5 & #6 show the difference in the vent when the jacket is unbuttoned vs buttoned. What do you think? Was this jacket made for someone taller?

The last two photos are a silk jumper I found. It may not be a 'wow' piece but I've been looking for a lightweight jumper that isn't too bulky so I can wear it in the summer evenings. I'm not so sure about how it looks left long (does it hit my hip at a weird place), but what do you think about the half tuck & scrunched sleeves? Oh & please excuse my creased cotton loungewear trousers - WFH dressing isn't too kind to my bottom half, haha
