I pull in the top of the sleeve through the underarm to just below the bust line on virtually all of my knit tops. Wovens are harder to do myself.

I size up for cardigans, and just look for looser fitting tops or tops that are elasticized at the waist and then loose at the hips, etc.

I have a similar problem from time to time. It isn't my hips so much as the middle tummy area. My current solution is to join Healthy Habits and lose a few pounds off my middle. However, this is probably a short term solution. It is a problem with button down shirts or cardigans--I need to leave the bottom buttons undone.

For me, fitting the shoulders is of utmost importance. Too wide or sagging shoulder seams ruin the whole look. I will be interested to see what ideas are offered as a solution.

I was wondering what other women out there do that have this same issue: my hips are a size bigger than my shoulders (or if I want to be glass-half-full my shoulders are super skinny!) so when I'm shopping for shirts I find that they fit well in the shoulders but are too snug in the hips. For knits its not that big a deal, but with cardigans or blouses it becomes a noticeable problem. Do other women face this and if so what solutions have you found?
