Thanks Angie! The Levi’s are a possibility. I’ve seen them here but haven’t tried them yet. The Demi boots aren’t suitable because I don’t want a shredded hem (I’m not anti it, but I already have jeans in that category and want a cleaner look this time).

Thanks Bijou! I will try David Jones for the J Brands first off. I try to avoid Nordstrom because of the high shipping costs. But The Outnet is a possibility. I remembered that you love Mother The Looker jeans and am keeping my eye out for them

Brooklyn, I have bought my JBrand jeans locally from two Perth based boutiques. I would be happy to buy their jeans online especially from a retailer such as Nordstrom, the Outnet or Net-a-Porter that allows returns if they were on sale.

In terms of fit, I find their sizing to be consistent with other brands, although that pair that I linked, they said that they were a tight fit, so I would size up on those. I am a big fan of Mother "the Looker" skinny jeans, I find them incredibly comfortable, but I cannot find a coated black denim in their range.

Thanks Suz. I have always wanted to try COH. It's a bit expensive at the moment, but you never know what BF will bring. Last time I checked Aritzia, they did not ship to Australia. I just checked again and now they do. And FREE, bless them. So definitely a contender. They look fab on you. I like the button front ones.

I've now collected finds for some of the suggestions. Although the J Brand jeans shown here are cropped. I would like the full length version (J Brands site is not Finds enabled).

Thanks everyone!

I'll also put in a word for CoH Olivias. They are high rise slim jeans. On Shopbop they say the rise is 10.75 but I think it is higher. At Aritzia they say 11.25. You can get them with buttons exposed or hidden. I got mine on substantial sale at Aritzia about 6 weeks ago (i.e. half price). I don't have the coated version, but there is one. On me they are not a true skinny -- they are calf skimming vs. calf sucking (and my calves are not skinny). The opening is 12 inches. (11 inches is truly calf sucking on me.) I took my normal size but they would also have worked sized up for a slightly looser fit, and I'm considering that in a blue pair.

Also, they call them ankle jeans but on 5'4" me they are full length but can be rolled to use as crops.

Bijou, I just checked out the photo ready range at J Brand. I think the Ruby high rise cigarette style in “vanity” (a saturated black) is a possibility. It has a 12.25” leg opening. Do you buy J Brand through the international site or locally?

Angie, thanks for your suggestions. I looked through them and I think the Madewell skinnies look like my best bet. I know forum members rave about Madewell jeans and I’d like to try them. And I am pretty sure the delivery costs here are reasonable. They might be a bit skinny though. I just measured the leg opening of my current skinny jeans and it’s about 11-12 inches. That’s a relaxed but not roomy fit. So maybe I need a straighter leg. I will try out the 501s here too. I’ve been meaning to give them a whirl again. I am going to do some more research this week so that I’m ready to pounce on Black Friday.

Thanks Smittie. I have never tried jeans at Zara. Their sizing is so inconsistent and their change rooms are so small. You know that experience when you are virtually on top of the mirror. Things can look, well, bad! But I will be brave and try some out. Or maybe just order in :)

Kkards, thanks! And for researching the delivery options too! We actually have a Topshop here so I can stop in and try some on. Like Zara, I have never tried on jeans there. The Frames look great. But I fear are a bit too skinny for me. I am interested in the Everlanes and will check out the delivery costs.

Thanks Bijou. I will have to wait for our Xmas sales for J Brand because that’s getting pretty spendy (and it’s no problem waiting given our weather). I am not sure about the lace up front for me. Bold But I am willing to go premium because I wear my jeans a lot.

Thanks Angie! I will go through the options you suggest later today and respond more fully later.

Have you or anyone else had experience with the brand AGOLDE? This pair caught my eye, but I don’t know the brand at all. (Can’t create a Find because I’m on my phone.)

Thanks Cee, I’m going to need it.

Thanks Gryffin, 9.75” isn’t bad. I just let go of a pair of AG velvet (!!) jeans with an 8.5” rise because they now feel too short. I’ve got so used to the 10.5 pair (my current faves). But I have hung on to a 9.5” pair too. So I will check out the EF options. Good to give them a shout out because even if they don’t suit me they may suit someone else reading this thread. But I’d really like a higher rise if I can get it.

Brooklyn - how committed are you to that exact rise? If that's negotiable then I highly recommend the EF coated black denim jeans. These are my jeans, must be about 3 yr old. Rise comes about 9 3/4" May I just say that I absolutely whole heartedly adore these jeans. Very atypical of EF as they are fitted, true cigarattes but they have some stretch. They really look like leather, do not bag out, insanely comfortable, breathable, not hot. I absolutely adore them. They are pretty much the exact look you are posting. https://www.eileenfisher.com/c.....color=1958 she is showing an ankle jean this season. The ones from Nordstrom are what I have. You can find them on poshmark and ebay. The cropped waxed are available everywhere. There is also a waxed legging EF below. I sized up Brooklyn so they are not so fitted on me and the rise is higher. But I had to give them a shout out!!

Hi all

I am after some relaxed skinny or slim leg jeans in a high waisted style.

My current skinny jeans (Australian brand) have a 10.5 inch rise. That’s still a few inches short of my navel and feels a bit low now. I’d like higher.

As I have muscular thighs and calves, they need to be a generous fit. A straight leg style might work (straight is pretty fitted on me). I don’t mind a bit of slouch around the ankles.

I’d prefer black. Coated would be great for a leather look. But I’d settle for black or a dark blue.

I am open to a button fly (exposed buttons or not).

I just got some very comfortable black, lace up, combat style boots. (I stole Suz’s find - they are the same shoes in black.) I’d like to pair them with slim style jeans when the weather gets cooler for dog walking and other casual activities. I’m going for a look similar to Saga in The Bridge. I think her pants are leather but I will settle for jeans.

I was hoping I might find something in the Black Friday sales. It needs to be available at an Australian retailer or a major international retailer who ships here.

I’d appreciate any leads.
