Freya, Panache, Anita and Shock Absorber are brands that work for me (small band/large cup). Title 9 has several good options. Breakout Bras has good reviews. A big issue I have with the encapsulation styles is that since they are so structured, I have trouble filling out the top. You'll have to try and see. I know the Tata-tamer (odd name, I know) is highly recommended, so that is worth checking out too.

Thanks all for your input. The last good sports bra was Nike and while I do love it, I'm looking for change. Wacoal was one I was looking at so will have to try on since Macy's carries them.

I am a small-band, large-cup person (34K, UK sizes) and two of my top-4 have been listed above -- Shock Absorber and Panache. They are actually 3 & 4 on my list, which isn't a knock on their quality, just a commentary on how they fit and work FOR ME. They are absolutely worth trying.

My top 2 are Freya Active (runs about a cup size small in my experience, and you may need to go up a band size because the bands are VERY snug) and the Elomi Energise. The Energise is, I think, an AMAZING bra. I'm a gardener so I bought it initially planning for it to be a work bra -- would hold up to sweat, and it wouldn't give me uniboob (it's underwired and encapsulating). I tried it while running just to see how it was, and it's FANTASTIC, with really good bounce control, and also a fantastic everyday bra. I now own 6 of them and they're what I wear 5-6 days of the week. I can be dressed for a meeting and look as if I'm wearing a regular bra, and yet still chase my dog down the street without bouncing out of my top. The only issues with it are that it comes up high on the chest, so I can't wear it with v-necks (most scoopnecks are fine).

I have one very similar to the ones Janet has posted, from Freya. It's a third brand that's good for small band/large cup sizes.

These two are favorites for me, but I think both are especially cut for small band/large cup sizes. Chantelle and Panache are both worth checking out though. Also look at the Anita brand for wireless styles (that's what I use for yoga, although they are supportive enough for running too).

I love my Brooks Juno bra for high impact sports, like running. I now have two. It has inner cups that keep breasts separated. I got mine through REI (Rockville store has a great selection).

Enell bras. I use the smallest size for running. They aren't attractive but they do provide great compression resulting in zero movement during high impact sports.

I have a Wacoal sports bra with underwire (the underwire is worn on the outside). I am a 36DDD and this is the most comfortable sports bra that I have ever worn. I bought 3 since I am at the gym 4 days a week.

You might want to check out Bravissimo, especially if you are small-band, large-cup. They have both Panache and other brands of sports bras, as well as their own designs.
Wacoal also has several different sports models, but I find their sizing to be inconsistent, so you may need to try on first, rather than mail order.
I bought a Chantelle sports bra through last year's NAS, but was not very impressed. The wires and underside of the cup fit well and were supportive, but the use of heavy foam cups meant there was a lot of "air" on the top side, significantly reducing the support. The make was high quality, though, so if you're the right shape, it might work for you.

I just finally bought my first real sports bra. I do Irish dance which is very high impact - but I don’t usually feel much in the chest area, and I hate constricting clothes, so I had just been wearing a regular padded bra.

Anyway, things shifted with age. And now I am so so happy with my Natori Zen sports bra. It’s underwire with shaped cups - no uniboob at all. I’m usually a 32C or D and I definitely needed the D for this one. I can jump up and down and see no motion.

I also tried a similar Chantelle bra (will post the model when I find it) and it was not the right shape for my boobs. But of course this is very individual, so I suggest checking it out too.

Hi all. Now that Fall is finally here, I've upped my workouts and am in need of major workout gear and sports bras. My boobs seem to have changed the past few years and am due for a major bra fitting, but I definitely need a comfortable high impact sports bra. Anyone have any good recommendations where I don't get uni-boob? Let me know.
