Thanks for the recommendations! I think i'm going to have to try Paige. I carry my weight in my lower hip and thighs and my struggle is often not being able to get jeans over my thighs.

I have and love AG (Adriano Goldschmied) Jessie and Angel. Both fit my muscular thighs and do not gap at the waist. Try them out!
Paige's usually work well for me -- I carry weight in the low hip and thigh. I've also had success with JBrand, although I have to get the waist taken in significantly and they run a bit short. I love my Hudson Beth baby boot cuts also. I've also had a bit of success with AGs.

On the less expensive side, Kuts seem to work well for a fuller thigh, but I have to get the waist taken in a lot on them too.

Oh, here's a thought. I've tried on Mavi jeans a few times, and they are maddeningly short on me, so I've never bought them, but the cut through the hip and thigh seems to work well. For ladies who don't have as long an inseam as I have, they may be a good option.

I should also add the caveat that I have a short waist, so most of these jeans I've mentioned have a mid-low rise. High rises are awful on me.

I like Joe's Jeans. They have two cuts that are particularly pear-friendly. The Honey is a curvy cut, and the Visionaire is a high-waisted (well, higher-waisted, I think mine are like a 9" rise which is mid-rise for me, but that's what I like) cut.

Paige doesn't work so well for me, although it does work for some pears. I carry my weight on the high hip and they are cut slimmer there, I think, so I always have to size up and then the waist is too big. I have a pair of Paige skinnies but have to wear a belt to keep them from sliding down the waist.

I have a pair of old Lucky Sweet N Lows that also fit quite nicely although the rise is a bit low for me. I don't find Lucky's recent fabrics to be as nice as they used to be though.

And not premium, but I have 2 pairs of Kut from the Kloth jeans that fit quite well and have a higher rise.

ETA: So, the rise thing. I prefer the look of a lower front rise (like Janet I am really short waisted, but also have a normal-to-long waist to crotch measurement) but I require a certain amount of length in the back in order to keep things decent (no plumber's crack). I like an 8-9" front rise, and at least a 13.5" back rise. Most "mid-rise" jeans are actually low-rise on me, and most so-called "high-rise" jeans (although we are not talking about Mom jeans here) are mid-rises on my body. So you need to find your rise sweet spot (ignore what they call them, just look at measurements), and that helps with the jeans search a lot.
So, I am very much a pear. I didn't find any high end denim I liked, and I tried a lot. Now, I boarder right between regular and plus size, and this could be the issue. Premium Denim seems to prefer smaller sizes.

That said, I was able to find three pair of jeans I love:
1. JAG Jeans
2. Levis Defined Waist
3. Talbots. Yup, Talbots. Not a "cool" brand name, but they make several cuts of jeans designed for curvy gals in a huge range of sizes.

I recently bought my first pair of high-end designer jeans and I ended up going with the "Kimmie" curvy bootcut from 7 For All Mankind. While I liked them just fine (see full review here: http://bit.ly/10IZULV) I am looking for alternatives that might also be great.

Most designer jeans, I have found, are cut for ladies that are very tall and lean. While I am definitely a pear, I was wondering if anyone had any options that had worked well for your curvy body?

Many thanks!
