I think over 15 inches is getting toward wide calf sizing, but I'm only in the 12 inch range so I have the opposite problem! By using a conversion chart, 40cm = 15.7 inches.

Do you have a long ruler? If so, wrap a piece of string around your calf, mark it where it meets, and then measure the string against the ruler. If not, I think you should probably go to a pharmacy or convenience store and just buy a soft tape measure. 40 cm is 15.7 inches, which is on the cusp of being a wide calf boot. If you're able to wear that width both with and without jeans, it's tough to really know how large your calves are and what kind of boot you need. Also, boots will vary. Some will be "regular" at 15.5 inches, but some will only be 14 inches around at their regular size. You really need to find out the width of your calf and then look online to see what the boot manufacturer says about the width of the boot.

Hi, you'd probably get the best results by measuring around the fullest part of your calf and checking the boot's calf measurement. I understand you don't have a tape measure, but try this printable one. You just have to tape it together.

You see I don't have a tape measure, and I have seen lots of people talking about boots on here! I would like some too myself, but I sure would like to know my size in the boots tho! I don't have a tape measure and I want to order some boots online, but I would like to know what size my calves usually would be, if I could fit into a size 40 cm with no problem with comfortablity and it stays on my leg with the pants on and off! So I wanted to see if anybody who knows about calves measurements and boots, if they could give me an estimation on my calves! Would that be standard calves boots or wide calves boots! Thank you ladies I sure would appreciate it!
