Any of the three pairs of dressy flats you have shown (Coach, Andre Assous or Blue by Betsey Johnson) would be lovely with your carwash skirt. Keeping fingers crossed for you that one will be a fit.

Maybe the high tops could be for wearing with the dressy shirts and jeans.

I went ahead and ordered the Coach lace-ups (which BTW are still at Nordstrom for $225, what's up with that when 6pm has them for $80). Since I hit on shoe fit only about 25% of the time, I'll have plenty of time to return them. If they don't work, maybe similar these instead? The AA ones would have to go on sale but they are pretty to my eye.

I don't recall where, probably Nordstrom, maybe Zappos, but I saw a pair of black flats with an ankle strap. I think that would be a great look with the skirt. It would dress it up a bit but still be comfy, plus it is still deceptively casual at the same time. It was a slightly more minimal/sportier looking shoe than the coach shoes posted above because it wasn't a tie strap, which in my mind would be more of a bohemian look, this was maybe a buckle or Velcro strap. I wish I had time to find the pic. It didn't cost too much either. I'm sorry I'm so short on time. (I was hunting for simple black flats for my DD as a holiday gift and it caught my eye.)

I love the skirt and the paired tops. Great choices. I hope you find the right shoes and enjoy your events!

Those hi-tops make me smile too, but paired with the skirt doesn't do justice to either one. The skirt is so delicate, I want a barer leg and foot with it. How about a pointed-toe flat in a shimmering silver? This skirt really has a lot of soft movement happening down near the shoes, I see it with something simple and slipper-like only. And I do love me some silver footwear!!!

I'm thinking either go with the dressy floatiness of the skirt and try Angie's suggested dressy flats (or whatever heel you can stand), or, go contrast with moto or combat boots, but they have ("have" hahaha - sorry to be adamant) have to be in great shape. Polished and tough chic! Leather lace ups would be nice. Patent or velvet maybe? Show bare leg, or shimmery nude sheers, or fishnets or lace stockings. Personally not visualizing high tops with the skirt.

Dressy black flat would be more practical than anything. All I have are these Vince Bogarts, they seem too casual but not casual enough, if that makes sense.

These hi-tops make me smile

DH made a request for a skirt with a slit. I think he had in mind a pencil skirt. He doesn't ask for much. We compromised on this one in finds. In for a penny, in for a pound, I ordered these two blouses to try with it. Actually, I'd wear either with jeans, so if they don't work, I'll figure something else out for the skirt. Maybe a denim jacket, I'll try it when it gets here.

I probably need closed toe shoes for this skirt to wear in winter. The problem is that I absolutely cannot tolerate anything over about 1" anymore. I'm thinking to do the snazzy sneaker thing and get some hi-tops. We have tickets to two concerts in Las Vegas and Chicago this winter, one at the House of Blues, so bling could be fun. Una's petrol oxfords, if they could be found. Leopard is something I might use again. I have some olive Pikolinos lace up booties that are super comfortable, could wear those with some stockings.

Will Hi-tops work? Other suggestions?
