I did find I could get my custom orthotics into a pair of Michael Kors rubber rain boots and I get more compliments on them than any item ever. The biggest disappointment is usually Cole Haan and their Nike Air. Super thin soles, not nearly enough cushion and very little support. </p> <p>My biggest success so far is the dansko sneakers...Veda. I think they fall in the so ugly they're cute category. They are comfortable enough for a little walking, but not a days worth. I wanted to join in but kept holding back, mainly because I doubt I will be posting pictures. For one thing, I'm too shy to put my pictures online! For another, I'm the polar opposite of tech savvy. </p> <p>Angie's post from a few months ago celebrating the stylish over 50's is what really made me want to join. I'm 53 and wish I qualified as stylish! People are shocked when I say that number...most put me at mid-40's. I don't though! Due to some recent health issues I definitely feel at least 53. </p> <p>I do try to look good, but feel like it's so much more challenging than it used to be. Now it's not just what I like and what looks good on me...it's also what's "appropriate" and just stylish enough without the dreaded trying too hard. So many extra things to think about. And for me, a supreme personal challenge...major foot issues keep me in gym shoes and custom orthos most of the time and seriously, what look does that not ruin?! I'm slim and fit and could look okay at least, but then there are those shoes.</p> <p>So, that's me and my baggage of issues. Can I come in and play? I have many general questions to ask but this post is quite long enough for now! </p>
