I haven’t bought from them, but when I was searching for an orange tank they definitely came up as an option here. Like you I prefer to try items on if I can.

Thanks Sal, I had started to look for travel dresses too, after I posted.
Thanks for coming back to explain, Suz. I think that dress is now out of stock anyway but you have opened my mind.

Thanks Bijou, some nice things at Decjuba and I hadn't heard of the sister brand.
My FB feed is now in inundated with dress ads, thanks to cookies etc. Usually annoying, but it is bringing some possibilities.

The best is probably from Blue Bungalow, (thanks violet Myra) , which has an Aussie site
https://bluebungalow.com.au/pr.....3057353862

Another site with some possibilities (not sure of the wrinkle free thing though)
https://alwaysalice.com.au/col.....s-in-black
https://alwaysalice.com.au/col.....vy-foxwood
https://alwaysalice.com.au/col.....ss-in-blue

But I am a bit suspicious, as I have never heard of these brands before. Violet Myra, sounds like you have not actually bought from Blue bungalow?
Can anyone confirm that they are legit?

What Sal said about natural fibres and crease proof. It's not easy to find that combination.

I am almost 100% sure that the Zara dress I and Jules linked would not be too hot. Yes, it is long and longer sleeved but the fabric is almost a voile -- really, really lightweight cotton and offers sun. protection. It is so loose that it is very breezy. Angie (who admittedly runs cold) wore it in Greece in extreme heat, and I wore it on our hottest summer days here -- it would not be heavy enough for a cooler summer day. So you might consider it!

Cotton knit would be far hotter than this dress, no question in my mind. A woven fabric is almost always cooler.

It’s hard to get both natural fibre and creaseproof. Travel dresses might work. Probably a cotton knit? I used to have a couple of knit tee dresses that I wore a lot - sadly they both got stains that I could not get out.

Suz - Thanks and great to hear from you! We do have Zara here. I think that dress is too hot for me - I'm more after light short sleeves - and also completely not needing ironing (I just don't iron on holidays, especially camping ones - but even in a recent trip to the UK where we stayed in rooms, I was too exhausted to do it, even if I had got hold of an iron). I can easily check Zara out though - there's one near my workplace.

Sal - thanks. I hadn't come across Humidity but they have some delightful styles.. Not sure about the non wrinkle side though - I short of presume that 100% cotton would need ironing. I have loved that white dress of yours since you bought it - and in fact until recently had a quite similar one that I'd worn for 10+ years (bought from Ezibuy ironically) I can't work out if culled it (would have only been for staining reasons) or if it just got lost in the house move.

Angie - Thanks! Boden is probably the one place I would risk ordering from. There's one dress that nearly meets my requirements (if wrinkle free)

https://www.bodenusa.com/en-us.....gr?cat=C1_ (I'd pick a different colour) except it's a bit body con around the top so maybe too hot.

Joy - all your requirements sound difficult and I feel you. I'm not fan of V necks on myself either - not a great look with a small bust. I'll check out swim dresses

Jules - thanks for chiming in. Hard to express what our heat is like! I probably wouldn't even be outside at the hottest Australian temps, but I was surprised how hot the UK was in summer (and also Tasmania, where I recently holidayed)

Thanks so much to every one for responding. My apologies for taking this long to get back to you - I had a mini meltdown over some admin bureaucracy complicated by the fact that we've recently moved house and I'm afraid I forgot that I'd posted for a bit and then had a headache that needed to be cured by bed.

I should just say generally that I'm after really wrinkle- proof - something I can stuff in a bag and just pull out and wear. I have one such dress and it's an absolute MVP - but it's sleeveless. I've travelled quite a lot recently and discovered that if I'm out and about sightseeing then I prefer shoulder coverage for both sun, and protection from a backpack. But I get hot in summer and for coolness, definitely prefer sleeveless - so looking for a dress that is as cool as possible but has short sleeves.

Carol - Thanks - I'm pretty sure that we don't have QVC or Land's End here. I'd prefer to buy in person if possible, or if not then order in Australia rather than pay international shipping

VioletMyra - thanks for the Blue Bungalow link - I hadn't heard of them and the prices look reasonable too. Had a look and some of them look close to what I'm after - though not 100% - I'll revisit for a closer look

I loved my similar Zara dress last summer. Wore it with thigh saver shorts. We don’t have the same extreme heat that you deal with here, but it’s very light while covering the skin (can’t speak to UV but I didn’t get my prickly skin feeling or any burns through it…)

So many summer dresses are bare somewhere, especially on top. Polyester is hot. Good luck. Look at swim dresses too. I have moved toward summer skirts. It is hard finding them long enough. I like something heavy that does not need a slip, as they are mostly polyester. I have had the best luck with Lands End dresses but I am too small for them this year. Denim skirts are gold but hard to find. Especially white denim. I have looked for years to replace mine. Good luck.

One of my favourite summer dresses is an Aussie brand called Humidity. It's on it's third summer - didn't get much wear last year due to our cold wet summer but it has been great. It's only available in a 10 in white but that might be perfect?

Anne, do you have Zara there? I got a great dress (Angie also has it, and other fabbers have it in different colourways) that worked really well last summer. Similar to the second blue bungalow dress. Modest but definitely cool to wear. I very much enjoyed this dress last summer. All cotton. I guess in theory you have to iron it -- but in practice, I found that I only ironed it on taking it out of the wash -- it did not show wrinkles and even packed well. In fact, I'm not so sure it *needed* ironing -- just hang to dry and smooth wrinkles down with hands and it would come out quite well, depending on humidity levels, I suppose.

I have a wardrobe hole for a summer dress that is
-short sleeved (not sleeveless)
-completely non iron
-very lightweight
-around knee length
-not v-neck
-available in Australia

The dress below (which I own) is close, but,
-Needs ironing
