The smaller sizes came in and I need your opinions on which (if any) should stay. I'll withold my opinion on my leanings until I have some thoughts. Ignore hair and styling (what there is of it) as I had just come back from the gym and wanted to get these pics. They probably look better with heels, but I didn't think of it at the time. Thanks for looking.

#1 French terry pair in Winter white; they feel like heavy/drapey PJs and are much more tapered in the lower leg
#2 Crepe pair in optic white, with black at waist and zipper hems, cropped length

Angie, are you referencing the leopard print sweatshirt? IMO, that works better than a solid off white top because the spots and colors break up the look. IDK, I may be over analyzing. I have a Target tee PJ top that is not optic but skews cool that I would live to reproduce in a jumper, but you know how hard that can be to do online!

Love the HL cross over pants but agree on the smaller size. I recently tried this blouse from Ann Taylor and really liked it save for the fact that it was too big in a Petite Medium on me. And now the Small is sold out. It has a nice fluid fit and the torso might have worked for me size wise but the shoulders were too broad. I mention all of this because the garment might work well on your IT? build.

I would like to see how the smaller sizes look on you. I keep looking at them, and half the time I think they are super interesting and architectural (btw how is it to sit in them?) and half the time I think they look like a dhoti because of all the white fabric. They do balance out your shape and you have styled them in a lot of great iterations.

...and here are the outfits with the French terry and crepe crossovers. Both are coming in the next size smaller, as I ordered larges and they're massive! Am I nuts, or are these super genius? Please be honest as I want to know if I am delusional, especially as the various views flatter to more (or lesser) degrees.

Sharan, probably both, since I spend most of my time indoors in a warm office or bus where I tend to shed layers. I've been known to wear sleeveless shells in Winter with a bulky cardi and coat/scarf so I have options. Seems like my bus drivers either want it to be 80F in the Winter or 55F in the Summer!

Wow Inge, thanks for all the legwork! I'm open to colorblock and pale blue/grey. I love the Kooples sweater (because I always gravitate to the statement piece) but I should probably stay away until it goes on sale! I'll look at these more closely, but there are definitely a few interesting ones in there. The cropped club Monaco is sweet, I would need to remove the cowl to see out though

Here are a few more ideas.
ETA: How do you feel about a subtle colour-block, or a very pale (cool) grey or pale blue. Those would look terrific with the trousers as well.

The pants came yesterday, so I'm hoping to get photos tonight. They are at least a size too big, but I'm loving the drapeyness! Thanks for your insights, I will probably look at more cropped silhouettes, which I've avoided in the past, because the waist is typically not an area I like to highlight. These pants hang on the hips (so hopefully they'll stay on me) and beg to be revealed. Sorry for the tease, but stay tuned

I need to wear more open neck tops, too. I recently ordered this sweater, which is a crew, but looks like v neck, I hope, because of the mesh placement. It hasn't come yet so I can't give the full review.

Sharan, I think I need more towards optic. I saw those blouses in AT and they lean cream to beige. I already have two sweaters in that color that aren't my best shade, though it may not show up in the previous post's pics. What do you mean WRT a layering piece? A tee? I don't have any white jackets, but I do have non-black and would be fine with the camel cashmere long coat to lessen the drama of the head to toe white look.

I'm interested in this: first of all , those Helmut pants are fantastic, I want them on me now! Also - I would love a cream/ivory top or sweater and have been on a similar hunt. I same similar requirements as yours. What makes me turn down every sweater I see so far is the way ivory/winter white looks dirty around the cuffs of a sweater after wearing it for about 5 minutes (at least in my world it does) - plus they pill, like most knits, but show it so badly! Can you tell I've and a bad experience or two? I'm looking too - no luck yet. Everything is a chunky cable turtle neck or high neck, which makes ME look like a chunky turtle.

I thought I'd jump on and start a thread because the white and cream Find HL trousers below are making their way to me right now, and I need to be prepared! (OCD much?) Confession time: I am currenly wearing a similar slouchy style (the Vince harems in ink, below) that I'm struggling to compose outfits for, so maybe I'm stressing at the moment? Being a short, busty, IT, I think it makes sense to add volume on the lower half, but many of my newer fluider (sp) tops coupled with added volume on the bottom look sloppy on me, to my eye. I think it will be interesting to see if the crossover offers a more structured volume on the hip than the pleats of the Vinces, which are almost jodhpur like on me. See attached today's outfit with the Vinces in #1 (feel my pain).
The new trousers will hopefully at least partially fill my HEWI hole arising from my current obsession with cool white looks for F/W (pic #2, below) and http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....nspiration. The problem is still my inability to find winter white tops which are neither too sheer, nor too bulky. I feel like cream has too much yellow to wear near my face and I've tried a ton of cable knits and the current bulky knit look is not even JFE. If anybody has any ideas, let me know...oh, and I have neckline requirements of boat to wide crew, or V. I don't ask alot ;-)
Photos be forthcoming when I get the HL pants this week.
ETA: smaller sizes came on Thursday, see bottom of thread
