But for these, as with my flares, I think the sweep of the full leg is better without a break. You could keep them as-is or hem a tiny bit. I'd also try them with several other shoes -- would you ever wear them with ankle boots with a slight heel, for instance? If so, keeping them this length might be better. I tried the “new shorter” full length and for me I don’t care for it — it reminds me too much of all the years I was forced to wear pants too short because that’s all that was available. Are you in danger of tripping on them? Will you wear them in cold weather? Have you washed and dried them? ( They might shrink some in length. If you want ankle pants, they will need some shortening so that they hit on or above the ankle when you are standing.<br /> You need to find your sweet spot. Angie's suggestion of 2 inches above the ankle works well for me.
