It is a stressful time but glad to see you are wise and are recognizing the value of this time together. Sorry you are missing experience with your daughter. Anyway to designate drive time on speaker phone with your daughter?

You do have a full plate to carry, Kelly, but it sounds like you are managing your responsibilities with generosity and grace!

And pant lengths? I'm sure you made a terrific choice!

I'm sorry to hear about your dad's vision problems. My father didn't have any problems after cataract surgery, but my mom did, and it was awful to deal with. My dad did have hearing problems, which he failed to acknowledge, so that was another problem. I understand all too well what you're dealing with, and hope things get better for you and for your dad.

Sorry to hear your father's vision issue. That is tough. It is so true at this age things can turn really quickly. It sounds like his general health is good so hopefully things will look up soon.

I had to chime in because for a while I thought my father was losing his memory because he would ask me the same questions over and over again over the phone. Then I saw him in person, he was just fine. Then I realized what actually happened was he was a bit hard at hearing. He also refuses hearing aid, Thank God my stepmother has been good at passing messages back and forth when we chat via skype.

(Miss you, Kelly).

You are an AMAZING daughter. I'm very sorry to hear bout your Dad. That's very tough. Does he live alone? (My Dad is 83 and lives alone, but he can see well enough).

I know all about Dads who don't think they are going deaf. *sigh*. We will get there!

We miss you too Kelly. Yay to picking up the best pants length for you! You know what, I think our eye adjusts and gets 'trained' after enough practice (and by that i mean - after getting enough inputs from YLF )

So sorry to hear about your dad....that's rough! I bet it's also very scary to lose your vision at that age, when you're already struggling a bit to stay independent. I'm glad you're spending more time with him...you're an awesome daughter Hope it's sorted very soon...,until then, do make *some* time for yourself every now and then. Running 2 houses, caring for your kids & parents, working a full day ---- it's quite ALOT.

But I was finally able to decide on a pant length without posting a picture! Of course, I'm not 100% sure I got it right but I'll post pics next week--time permitting. I normally don't like doing alterations but it was a treat just to be home and to have the luxury of time to get it done.

It's been super hectic lately. My 86 year old dad had eye surgery to repair a slipped lens. He went from being an active senior to being a near blind senior at the drop of a hat. Surgery did not go as planned so we have spent the last few months trying to fix the problem. He had his second surgery last week and will have to have a cornea transplant in another month or so. He's been very discombobulated and stressed out. I feel bad for him and I know he's worried that he might not regain his vision. It's life changing--not being able to drive or do the things he was used to doing. I'm just hoping we can get it sorted in the next few months. Before we have to deal with the other eye. The good thing is he is only a half hour away but it's been a struggle to take care of two households while working too. Good thing DDs are sort of self sufficient these days. I haven't been around as much as I'd like. DD1 is looking at colleges and I really haven't been part of that activity at all Oops, this is supposed to be about pants lengths and here I am digressing. Let's hope the pants lengths came out right!

The glass half full is that I've been able to spend a lot of time with my dad lately! I've also been able to work on my voice projection since he's pretty sure he doesn't need a hearing aid Lol!

Hope everyone is doing well! I miss you guys!
