Thanks rachylou. Yes I think ankle one for the win. I am going to wear a block heeled shoe with it in black with an open toe. The other dress is a bigger size and tricky to alter. I need to just forget about it and just get dressed for the day when it comes. I'm an over thinker about everything. I'll concentrate on doing my hair in a fab style.

Are these the two dresses in the different sizes? They both look fancy and fun! Ankle length would probably be more versatile in the grand scheme, but I say run with it!

Oh Sally I lost a little bit of weight ( just a few kilos 3-4) and have had to get the dress I bought in May taken in up top! It was already slightly floppy around armholes and the small loss made that worse! So please don’t worry and don’t feel bad. I think you look beautiful in it xx

Yes sorry everyone for going over old ground. I should just wear the dress and forget about last minute purchase of another. Think I'm just disappointed in myself for not losing weight to look better in it. Cheers, Sally

Sally I think what’s happening here is that you have let your friends persuade you away from what you had already decided was best *for you*. Now of course having the forum decide rather than you would be the same thing, but I don’t think it was, I think you seemed to have decided yourself and you even had the dress hemmed to suit. I was following along at the time because of also choosing my outfit for my daughter’s wedding which is about 3 days after your stepdaughter’s.
I agree that the dress flatters your shape and so I am thinking that you will likely feel better in this dress than you would in a last-minute change. When you see the photos after, won’t it be better to see a dress you felt flattered you?
I appreciate the difficulty and want to cheer for you!

Hi everyone, I posted a while back but need some more advice re this outfit for stepdaughter's wedding in a vineyard, picnic style reception. Mother of the bride is wearing salmon pink midi, mother of the groom, floral maxi. I cannot find anything other than this dress that flatters my figure but when asking people I know, they say it's too formal or old fashioned. It flatters my apple shape body. I have a bigger dress that can be altered to floor length and the other one is ankle length but doesn't hang as well. It is dark bronze with gold shimmer. (Same dress, bought 2 second hand) Wedding is 2 weeks away. Help! Thank you.
