I find silk undershirts/base layers useful for travel when there is a risk of variable weather. Pop one under a light weight blouse and you suddenly can accommodate cool temps. I’ve had some rough years as well and have found that even when I’m exhausted travel provides much needed rest to the mind as well as the body.

What a trying time; you have my sympathy. Good for Mr. Minu, arranging a brief, casual-travel respite. My thought, like Angie's and others, was to add a couple of items for warmth--a cardigan that could go with the pants or dress, for example, and possibly a closed pair of shoes to go with the dress and jumpsuit. And perhaps a scarf. Alternatively, I suppose you could add warmth with a hidden base layer under the dress or jumpsuit if you needed them.

I hope the trip brings you a sense of calm.

ETA: I love the cardigan that you've added above. Perfecto!

Angie, thanks for the kind words. As long as mum is healthy and well, I think we should be ok. Well spotted on the missing degrees - I've added a new meteo chart which shows temperatures are expected to be around mid '20s degrees and will bring in a thick cardi.

Suz, thank you for the kind words. I have a raincoat jacket that is pocketable, will definitely bring it too as it is a good windbreaker too.

Jaime, thank you - Mr Minu has been a rock in the past months and I count myself as a very lucky person.

Sal, thanks! Hopefully I'll switch off after a work call that I promised to attend on Monday morning, Mr Minu was not impressed. The fisherman sandals are very comfy for walking and I thought they would be nice to walk around the town in the evening. Uhm...

Sisi, thank you for the kind words. If I'd be me, I'd have booked for the south but Mr Minu would have melted with those temperatures...Plus, D-Day celebrations are planned whilst we are there and as he's trying to add a visit in some places as well, I don't mind as it is an important day.

Dee, thanks for the kind words. Somehow, neutral seems to be my preferred palette. I've also placed several coloured items in a hold zone.

Carol, good point about a pair of boots, maybe I should add a pair of walking boots.

I would consider maybe, like, a Chelsea boot. And/or a heel for dinners.

Other than that, looks great! I used to watch Marie Anne Lecoeur on YouTube...a French expert on French style, and I think she's from Normandy. Much of this looks like what she would wear.

So sorry for your loss Minaminu, I hope this trip will prove beneficial for you. Lots of good suggestions so far, looks like all your bases are covered for any of the activities you plan to do. Such a lovely and soothing colour palette too.

I remember that from your previous posts I got the idea that you are an excellent packer!
This capsule looks good to me: I see t-shirts, comfy pants, sneakers - all things adequate to the type of activities you will be doing, plus some fancy things such as the pretty dress, the blouses, the jumpsuit, the nice accessories. I suggest one more pair of closed shoes and a woolen sweater, beanie and scarf. I imagine you are ok with overcast, cloudy weather? I ask because this type of weather puts me in depression mode. But then, I am the most meteoropathic person I know. :)
I am very sorry for the loss of your Dad. Hugs.

That sounds like a busy and hard time for you. I agree- the break will be good.

I probably would take sandals as you have the sneakers that are nice as well. I would take a couple of gear tees for the walking, and a nice topper (cardigan or jacket or sweater) to wear on cooler days.

Outside that I think it is really a good capsule!

Good that you have relented to Mr. Minu's fabulous suggestion. I don't have packing suggestions apart from comfortable shoes and layers, but I do hope it is a relaxing and restorative trip.

What Angie said all the way. I'm so sorry this has been a rough time for you. And a short trip sounds like excellent medicine.

Your proposed travel capsule looks excellent, except I think you need a raincoat, and like Angie, I might go for closed shoes vs. sandals. I might also bring a lightweight scarf. You will look pretty and pulled together in these colours. I like the mix of solids and patterns.

My condolences, Minaminu. Wishing you strength through this tough time. I know how tough it is loosing parents - especially when there is one left behind. I bet you're being a very supportive daughter. Bless your heart.

YOU NEED A FUN TRIP! Good job, hubs :)

I can't seem to see the temperatures on your trip....?

I think you need a topper that is not gear, and I'd bring closed shoes instead sandals. I'd throw in a light sweater too.

hi there,

I've been quiet for a while as the last 6 months have been quite difficult with my dad and other family's members passing. Things are slowly moving and I am adapting to life changes as I am travelling every few weeks to see my mum and often work from her place.

Short and sweet, I am stretched personally and professionally, feel guilty for anything, bit tired of everything and lost interest in my wardrobe.

Mr Minu's solution was to book a 7 days trip to north France for next week, part of me thinks I should cancel the trip but I get that I need some time to switch off. The weather forecast shows overcast and cloudy (celsius degree) and the plan is to recharge with a mix of sightseeing, short walks (less than 8 km), museum visits, eating out.

So, lovely fabbers, could I ask you to help me pack? I managed to select a few things from my online wardrobe by not sure if it is unbalanced / missing anything.
