Thank you for that! I did check out her page comparing G and R styles and I'm getting the same feelings as before, I do not connect with the G styles. I'm just not seeing it on me and connecting more with TR and D. I get what you mean about seeing movement in my pics, I see that too. But when I actually wear G clothes, I'm not looking my best imo. I'll keep that in mind though and play around with G a bit. And yes, thank you, I know it's just guidelines, but I'm a bit lost as you might be able to tell and could use something concrete to build off of just for now, which is why I wanted to see if I was headed in the right direction with TR. I'm getting some conflicting opinions and am a little confused. I appreciate all the help so far so thank you! If anyone has some tips on how to begin narrowing things down more that would be very appreciated.

Also I think I find myself easier to place within Kati L Moore's system. It was an obvious choice to narrow myself down to "fox", and when I checked the celebrity examples, they were kibbe typed as TR, so to me that was a good indicator I'm a TR along with taking the Kibbe test and getting mostly D. But maybe that's not right afterall. I'll keep experimenting. Xx

I quite liked Rachel Nachmias' re-work of the Kibbe styles- to me they feel more current. Rachel Nachmias has now stepped away from this approach, I believe, but some of her old work is still around. So here is one she did for what she calls Yang Gamine (which has a lot of overlap with flamboyant gamine) https://www.polyvore.com/stree.....=227993487
You'll see a lot of other examples on her page- check out how she does the difference between Gamine and Romantic types.
In the end, have fun with Kibbe, but don't let it limit you. I mean, if you like your hair a certain way, that's ok! Its a useful way to start considering how outfits might work, and it can be handy as a way of knowing what doesn't work, but it does not have to be a rule book. Also, any type can do a 'take' on, for instance, classic or romantic. It's just it is their version of that style. So a gamine can do a more romantic look through fabric or colour choices, or a more classic look, it does not mean Gs are condemned to only looking like Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby (gorgeous though she looked in that film)!

Yes, I considered gamine just based on my height. When I look at FG, G and SG, something seems off about it and it doesn't seem to hit home for me. The closest one I can identify with is SG. I had a pixie cut and people did tend to like it. Personally I felt pretty uncomfortable and unflattered by it unless it was very short and spiked up, and even then, I missed my long thick and wavy hair and felt it wasn't quite me. Also the boyish style doesn't match my personality and I feel like I look much younger, almost like a teenager when wearing G style clothes vs feeling and looking like my age in other styles. Any idea what kind of G were you leaning towards? I feel confused now haha. I don't see any classic in myself and the classic style jewlrey definitely does not work.

Looking at the comments, it seems like we are all picking up a combination of both yin and yang energies, so not clearly dominated by one or the other. To me, a lot of your photos have more energy and animation than I would expect for an R base type, or even a C base. So I'd go for a G base type i.e. more animated, a bit more combination of opposites. G types can certainly do great 'classic' looks- Audrey Hepburn being a prime example.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! Thank you for the compliment aproprio! So if I understand what you're saying, I could fit well into TR, but might need to play up the yang side? Thanks for the tips about making it my own once I get the hang of it, I completely agree. :)

I agree also about the gamine, but beause of being so petite I came on here to see if anyone sees it.
I also agree with you about not being a natural.
If it helps, I once had a straight A-line bob and got tons of complements on it. I didn't keep it because it didn't work with my natural texture and only looked good when pin straight, which my hair doesn't do. I think medium-long waves look best but I could see that style really flattered me so perhapse that's the dramatic influence? I'll look into DC (though I don't see classic in me at all, I can see how some elements of it would work. Also I think a sharp, angular A-line bob like what I had fits into DC hairstyles).

TR seems a good place to start, especially if the associated styles clicked with you and your comfort zone of highlighting the waist. I don't see a strong gamine and I concur with not classic or soft classic. Since you highlight your waist as an essential part of your style, I would think that rules out the naturals. I also concur with approprio to not take it too seriously and be willing to deviate. You may find that elements of others work for you, too, or that you need to modify the TR a bit.

TR looks like a fair call to me, and if it clicks for you it's a good place to start. But - with all that YIn you might feel the yen a bit more Yang, in which case you could probably skew Dramatic Classic if you wanted. You have a great face by the way.

I found Kibbe to be a useful reference for thinking about lines and proportions, and it's helped in developing my style. But be warned that these are only guidelines, and you have to understand how they work for you to apply them effectively. Once you get the hang this, you can start to mix and match a bit. For instance, if I followed the letter of the law I would probably type as a Yang FN. But I know I'm more Yin than that, so in practise I crib what I need from the SD guidelines.

Also, I urge you to figure this out for yourself, and don't listen to anyone who makes bold claims about what you should and shouldn't wear. There's an awful lot of sweeping statements and horrible visuals out there in the name of this wacky theory.

</iframe>">http://<iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s1067.photobucket.com/user/abzababzab/embed/slideshow/"></iframe>

Hi everyone!
I believe that I am a TR, but I'm looking for confirmation and want to see if there is a better fit for me. I am a bottom heavy hourglass 32-24-34. The bottom number fluctuates a lot with weight gain but the waist and bust measurement stay pretty consistant. I have a long toreso, and I believe I have short legs. I think I have upturned eyes. I have an asymmetric face and body so I think classic is definitely out. Size 6 shoe US . 5' in height, 100lbs. I come from an ethnic background where the people are petite and compared to them I'm not an oddity like I am in the states and Europe. Small, narrow hands and feet with long fingers/toes. Size 4 ring and my wrists are to too small for most bracelets and watches by quite a lot. I have slender ankles and calves with thicker thighs and butt. I gain weight (in this order) in the butt, thighs, face, upper arms and bust.
Thick, wavy hair. I was SCI/ART draped as a bright winter. I think I see sharpness in my face but also softness.
Narrow shoulders and rib cage, narrow/small bone structure. Oval or a heart shaped face. I do not like the clothing styles of FG and G on me, but I'm open to the possibility I'm a gamine, I just don't feel flattered by the clothes/hair. I think SG is too cutsey for me, I am not a bubbly person and I don't see the sweetnes in my facial features, and I don't think I'm curvey enough for SG. I feel at my best in formal wear and I believe I can wear a lot of jewlrey without seeming over-done. I seem to look sloppy/like a child without waist definition, in shapeless clothes and casual clothes.

I would love to know your opinions. Am I really a TR or something else? When I saw the TR style it clicked for me, but I'm not entirely sure!
Thanks in advance for any help:D
