My Birkies are a 41 and that is why I bought the Haflingers in that size. My slippers felt a wee bit short at the start, but, as I mentioned, after a few wearings, they were perfect. I tend to wear my Haflingers with a light sock but perhaps the suggestion to size up came from people who like to wear their slippers with heavy socks?</p> <p>I'd go for it; my Haflingers have been my go-to house shoe for the entire winter. I debated going for a 42 but am glad that I didn't since the slippers do tend to stretch a bit after wearing them for a while. I have the kitty slippers and they ran big if anything. I got a 37 originally, which is what I normally wear. Way too big.
